I can no longer, in good conscience, be the face of GP. They represent EVERYTHING I despise about corporate America! They pride themselves in the fact that they are NOT a trucking company. They are a TECH company running trucks. (That should tell you all you need to know, honestly.) They claim that they have the lowest turnover rate in the industry. I dare you to find drivers that have been here over 5 years. You will find less than 10! Heck try finding drivers here more than a year. They claim that they are the best company in the nation, yet 80% of their freight is brokered. You do the math. They are trying to redefine trucking and change all the practices that have worked for decades... just stop, please. Micromanagement is their mantra. You will literally be downgraded to a steering wheel holder bc that is literally ALL you will have control over!! You have ZERO SAY IN anything else you do besides when you go home. Driver's rights mean nothing to this company, and they will not only try to break them, they will NEVER protect your rights!! All they care about is the bottom line! And EVERYTHING that is going wrong with this company will be YOUR fault. Accountability does NOT exist here. And GP, before you reply with some BS, "oh trucking is not for everyone blah blah blah." I've been out here for 9 years! I've seen it all! I was born for this! Just ask anyone who truly knows me, which you never even bothered to do! I say this to you..."Not everyone is cut out to run a trucking company." You said it yourself. You're a tech company. Based on your credentials, you need to stick to what you know! The one who SHOULD be running that company is at the bottom of the totem pole...AG Anyway, there are some truly amazing people here. I have zero regrets for coming to GP. I have learned a lot and have become a better driver because of it. A few special shout outs to the following...I will save the best for last. 1. JT, safety, thank you for believing in me and helping me to be a better backer than I've ever been. 2. ML, HR, you are such a beautiful soul. Your smile and kind heart can light up the room and comfort anyone in darkness. 3. GC and JD, service, y'all have always been so helpful and always have our back! You are awesome!!! Thank you so much!! 4. The shop... THE BEST SHOP IN THE INDUSTRY!!! I will miss you guys so much! I wanted so badly to work alongside you someday. I'm sorry that didn't happen. 5. The rest of the staff... minus senior management... y'all are amazing! So welcoming, so awesome! I will miss every one of you so much! 6. JA... to the BEST DM I've ever had. I love you, guy! We made a great team, and I will miss you the most! Not to worry, you didn't get rid of me that easy. I will still bother you from time to time. 7. The Drivers...oh the drivers... my brotherhood...I love you SOOOO much!!! I will be looking for you out here! I will be the only Crete truck flashing my lights at you! We are family for life!!! - Heather Myers I will be praying that I'm wrong about GP and that y'all are truly able to turn things around! I love ALL of you, including senior management.

Pros

Everything else outside of the culture, practices and senior management.

Cons

Senior management running the company into the ground with the toxic culture they're creating and the insane practices they've put in place.

Absolutely garbage. Put my two weeks notice in with my dispatcher then suddenly im routed to the yard where I met with safety and HR. They decided yo part ways right then. No rental cars available to get home. Had to leave $1000 worth of my belongings on truck because there was no way of shoving everything in a suitcase. Was there over a year. I promise you that you won't make thier appointments unless you only take that mandatory 10hr break. Feel like a weights been lifted off my shoulders as I sit on a amtrak train going home. So my review is this company is just another company that can care less about thier drivers unless your buying thier bs.if you like to Drive 9-10 a day plus sit in docks 4-5 hours a day and not getting paid a dime and having to fight for detention then this company is for you. Stay away. You've been warned us thier not even an American company bunch of eastern European crooks own the company.

Pros

Trucks are well maintained and late model.

Cons

The safety director Jose. He's a con artist any real driver can see right through him. He tells drivers at orientation that over 700 miles a day is realistic and that hills and heavy loads dont effect your appointment times. Let me see you pull 80'000 lbs over skyline drive at 65. Like I said he's full of himself.

The positives: very nice, well-maintained equipment and depot. Then there are all the negatives. Dispatcher is in Columbia, SA and has no concept of American geography or weather conditions. Communication with dispatcher is pretty much hit-and-miss. They claim to pay breakdown pay, but the first time I had an issue and had to sit for a half-day, they managed to weasel out of paying me. Then there are the low miles. So far, I've averaged 1200 - 1500 miles per week. They talk a good game, but when the rubber meets the road, they are full of crap. My first clues should have been having to pay for the gas for the rental to get to orientation and only one night paid for in a hotel for a two day orientation. They have not managed to get me home for going on 4 weeks! I am not sure how GP Transco is an award winning "Best Company to Work". The bar for this award must be very low.

Pros

Very nice, well-maintained equipment

Cons

Low Miles, Horrible Dispatch, No Home Time, Poor Communication

Seriously a solid carrier to work for, from the way they do dispatch to their awesome maintenance team and driver friendly terminal...I've been with 6 companies in my career of more than a decade and so far GP has been everything they promised.

Pros

equipment, maintenance team, dispatch, respect for drivers, terminal is great

Cons

Home time could be better, very serious about safety so you gotta bring your A game
