Forced to use their fuel cards as Lease to Purchase. They add the fuel to the gross then deduct their 20%. Dispatchers will leave you sit all day then give you a load at 5pm that delivers at 5am 800 miles away. They say you can chose where not to go. I told my dispatch and he sent me there anyway saying no other loads. Then sent me to Florida after that during the hurricane. I made $246 in one month. They refused to give me an advance for food after bringing in thousands of dollars of revenue. You will be driving, almost time to park for your 10 hour and you’ll head a long beep. Once you look at you elf you suddenly have a full shift and even your fuel earlier in the day is gone! I asked for a meeting so I can dispatch myself so I can make money. Their dispatcher and business plan only accounts for covering the costs of truck and trailer so the driver rate per mile is not added to their truck. This in turns has dispatchers accepting lower rates. At the end on the week we only have enough money to cover payments and sometimes we don’t and go into the negative. If they added .55 or .60 to their truck cost per mile lease to purchase drivers wouldn’t have to worry. I got the meeting and drove a load to Chicago. The next day i drive to the office for the meeting. They said there is no meeting and I quit. I said i didn’t quit, i have a meeting. They put air locks on my truck and stranded me in Chicago. I live in Kentucky. This would be fine had they paid me. However they stranded me without any money and I had to leave h as of of my possessions in the semi. The manager took my key off my lanyard and my dead mothers crystal (with her ashes in it) was never sent again. I asked him what he did with it abcs his response was “i never seen it” it was there when he took it from my hands. Then he oddly takes a key and starts jabbing me in the bottom of my shoes, rather hard. I have my leg raised to tie my shoe. I asked him what he was doing and he said we have to clean this truck. I was confused as I keep my truck very clean. I said um okay but don’t touch me again or we are going to have problems. He left. Now I’m walking to Kentucky from Chicago, IL

They are great with the trucks, just wish Ryder had better service. Dispatchers are like family, Boss is tough, but fair and funny as ####.
Pros
Nothing in trucking is easy, but the office staff always helps you out. Give you room to breathe, as long as you make your appts, feels like running your own truck.
Cons
only con is when there is no house freight in an area and I get have to pick up a brokers load. hate brokers. thankfully not too often
