Just found out the ballon payment is 38k. Average check is 750 bucks thats if dont do a 34 hr reset or take cash advances or u will go in the hole. When i company driving here i made about the same after taxes. You can make more but good weeks are like once a month. The safety pay is how i survive out here without the saftey money i dont know how i could do it. I want to switch back to company driving but its too late you can switch only once. I been luck my truck never broke but i hear from others they go neg if you break down.

Pros

Good dispatch Good trucks New equimpment Apu on company trucks

Cons

Lease purchase is not worth it. Not even close.

Without taking any advances your checks will be like this.... 2600- 3000 dollars a week in deductions Gross is like 2600- 2900 Bring home pay is eaither negative and owe or 100-200 bucks per week. My 10 weeks at hirshbach I made about 0 dollars to 200 dollars a week. Some weeks I was negative and owed. Homeless man's job. Been here 10 weeks and nearly ruined my life. 2700-3200 miles pays like 800 bucks and that's the best week ever.

Horrible place to work they advertise newer equipment but that’s a lie, they have but they’re going to give you the old #### trucks that smell like ### and cigarettes and on there last leg!! They don’t fix anything on the trucks hardly example like if the APU’s broke they won’t fix just disable it and have you idle the truck which causes more problems down the line!!

Pros

Good orientation, very friendly

Cons

Terrible equipment to drive and they screwed me on my pay the last week I was there!! So be aware!

Hirschbach Lease Purchase from the beginning

I am going to Hirschbach Orientation on Monday November 13, 2015, which is my grandson's first birthday.
I am going to do the lease purchase thing. I am not going that way because I lack the resources to buy a truck, I am doing it because I want to see if a lease purchase through this company is a good thing or not. I am exploring. Those of you who know me, know that I have the business background to succeed but I tend to get fired. I am not a natural truck driver. So, if I can succeed in this venture, anyone can.

First the truck the recruiter talked about is an International Pro Star. Cummings engine. I do not know what year or how many miles it will have on it when I get there. I have an idea of what they are worth based on talking to dealers. Do I want to work for the company for three to five years and end up with a used truck? No. I am interested in making a living now. Not a used truck in the future. So the dangled carrot of a purchase does not tempt me.

Hirschbach is a reefer company. I like reefer work. I enjoy driving at night and reefer work is steady. They go to NYC and I don't mind going there. According to the recruiter, and we all know what kind of faith we can put in recruiters, the target goal is 2250 miles a week. That should make all payments and bring in $1000 pre tax a week. Last reefer company averaged 2900 per week. Hirschbach and my other company have many over lapping costumers, so I figure same miles.

I will post once a week and keep you all informed on how things work out.

Tomorrow, I take a rental car to Orientation. They are to reimburse me. I had the option of a bus ticket but that isn't going to happen ever again.

My time with Hirschbach

Okay like I promised:
Week 1 1,358
Week 2 3,065.11
Week 3. 803.54
Week 4. -392.45 (missed payroll deadline- bills were in the truck while truck was in the shop getting repairs- oops)
Week 5 1,683.16
Week 6. 1,399.70
Week 7. 284.54
Week 8. 817.88
Week 9. 516.84
Week 10. 372.09
Week 11. 2,249.82
Week 12. -779.70 (payroll issues with receiving paperwork)

Average weekly 948.21

Weeks 7,8,9, and 10 I was dealing with family emergency and was in and out of the hospital. Worked just enough to pay for the truck. During week 7, early in the week my fiancé was hospitalized fighting to stop labor at 33 weeks. Week 8, my son was born while the fiancé was at 34 weeks pregnant so that was high stress. Weeks 8 and 9 I ran hard as quick as I could so I could return to the hospital to spend time with my fiancé and son who was in Nicu or however you spell that. Basically intensive care for babies born premature. Week 10- I went back out over the road again with a new DM.

However, I want to thank Hirschbach for allowing me to run a partial week and just enough make the truck payments and getting me back to the hospital for 3 weeks straight. They gave me a load from Indianapolis to New York and deadheaded me back to get me back to the hospital. I don't know how many companies actually would do that.
