Dispatchers and managers are non-negotiable to hometime. Forced dispatch during inclement weather and no hometime for weeks for what is supposed to be dedicated drivers. HL will also swipe vacation time from drivers, or reset dates of vacation at the last minute after vacation has been planned and paid for. Good luck!
Pros
HL has dedicated runs.
Cons
Loss of hometime and vacation.

Wife and I have been at Hobby Lobby for four and half years. We have been on only two different dedicated routes in that time. The first was roughly 5700 miles Sat-Thurs., but we wanted to be home on weekends, so we have been on this route going on 3 years, still ~5700miles Monday.-Friday. Typically leave out midnight on Sunday get home by 3-4pm Friday. Our starting pay was $98.5k/each, and increased at roughly $2,950/year. So this year we are on track to make $116-118k/each. Depends on backhauls and if they decide to randomly give us extra bonus pay, and raises that are unexpected. Our Quarterly safety bonuses increased from $700-800 to ~$2200 after the first year, it’s based on miles driven. It was like one cent/mile now it is three cents/mile. We have just received a random raise last month, typically it is on the anniversary of your hire date, so unexpected for us. We get paid miles driven/hub miles, no zip code to zip code garbage, we reroute when needed to avoid storms and paid the extra mileage, we can shutdown when it is unsafe to drive, typically you get $20/hour for shutdown/breakdown pay. $20 every time you bump a dock, typically on backhauls you are in and out the shipper within an hour, and it is usually the same shippers along the route back to the terminal. Equipment has routine maintenance every 50k miles, you can take a spare truck for your load if you do not have time to wait for them to finish, we usually just take the spare. They prefer you to fuel at Loves, if need be, if not they fuel you up at the terminal, while they fuel you they crews top off fluids, inspect oil/coolant levels, tires, etc. they will send you to tire bay or shop if fuel filter or tire needs changing, typically takes less than 15min both shop and tire crews are fast and efficient. If it is a major issue you will have to change trucks. Big on safety, so shutdown if you have to due to fatigue or weather, no problem, done it plenty of times during the winter, when our reroute was unexpectedly shutdown. Always bring damaged equipment to shop, do not leave it for the next driver, they will fix it, stuff happens. Very easy company to drive for, they treat you well, and do not try to push you into unsafe situations. We will retire with them, the pay, benefits, home time, company culture, equipment, and facilities are exceptional, and I can not imagine too many companies matching their standards.
Pros
Pay, benefits, home time, paid vacation and PTO. Impeccable equipment, and facilities.
Cons
I do not like the annual safety meeting in Oklahoma City because we are out of town drivers, and that means we lose that weekend of home time, it’s on a Saturday usually. So plan some activities that weekend after the safety meeting.

By far the best company my wife and I ever worked for. We almost didn't come to HL because of some bad reviews, like cargo container runs with no air ride ( thank God we don't sleep in the trailer) we can't tell the difference if we have a container of a air ride trailer. HL gives you a route after 2 weeks. This is great I know when I will be home so I can plan things. We run over 4800 miles off on Thurs. night go back Sun. morn. Alot of home time for OTR drivers EVEY WEEK. Making between $1650-$1800 gross a week. I can't believe anyone would say bad things about this company. They are always asking if everything is ok, how are you liking it, any problems they can address. We have been here 6 mths. And plan to retire here. I put 4 stars because you don't want to over look this review.
Pros
Bonus check $1100 plus every 3 mths. On site doctors, company van to go to the store for truck supplies. Great atmosphere Great people to work with. Drivers lounge has Italian leather couches. Showers, laundry free, they fuel your truck and wash the windows, want a clean truck 3 onsite wash bays 2 of them they hand wash you truck. You don't even have to get out of your truck. Mechanics that want to get you fixed quick and rolling, break down, detention, weather pay. Everything is in writing.
Cons
Can't find one thing bad to say about this company.
