A paperless company perfect for this new generation of steering wheel holders that can't back or park need those with electronic and app skills. Not meant for old school drivers which explains auto trans in units. Driver / Secretary will be your function.

Pros

None

Cons

Equipment seen better days.

There's a big turn over rate here for a reason. Your expected to avoid scales when loaded especially with milk not to mention tolls as well therefore you'll be pushing the limits of the 100 mile out of route policy hopefully there's a love's on your route. CSA score is high expect to pull on scales even empty. Good luck in direct calls to personnel. Smoke or pet drivers charged $50 a week even though unit assigned seen its better days 600.000 miles. Seats n mattresses what a joke stress level will be high because of these factors with no rest or comfort. Prepare to age by years in a short period that's all I can say.

Pros

Rare calls from company.

Cons

To much to list.

Run don't walk. The character that's on Orientation video constantly turns head away after speaking. This is a red flag to those we are about to screw the driver. Driver seat are worn out and mattresses unfit to lay on and bunk accessories including fan inoperative. Good luck on maintenance help. There will be a bald tire on unit n trailer as well. Sure you'll look good going down the road but that's as far as it gets. Best look around for something else is your best bet.

Pros

Nobody bothers you.

Cons

No communication you'll be past on to next person phone tag. 100 miles out of route charge is more than owner op makes. Quite within 90 days charges will be deducted. Fuel only at love's good luck.

Keep scrolling for another job. They are designed to cut money from you one way or the other. Between their out of route mile charges in which mind you their route plan is not near fueling points therefore no choice but go out of route and only can fuel at love's at that. Their mileage estimate from one point to another isn't remotely what it actually is so there again you pay drive for free. Narrator on safey video constantly turning head after speaking this is a red flag a sign of we are about to screw you.

Pros

Nothing comes to mind

Cons

Actually several. By the way CSA safety score is high look forward to frequent enter scales.

The are greedy liars who will do anything to get their way. There are so many other better and more respectable food grade carriers out there.

Pros

You might survive for a few months

Cons

You will likely have thoughts of suicide after working for them.

Indian river transport

I'm in my second week with irt. I'll give you my impressions so far, good and bad. I came here having never pulled a tank.

So far the bad outweighs the good.
The company as a whole seems very disorganized. a week after starting, I received several emails requesting I verify my application. Getting ahold of dispatch is near impossible, unless it's after hours. Truck messages are never replied to. Payroll is only available between 1300-1500. Not very convenient, especially when you wake up Friday to realize your pay wasn't deposited. Orientation is minimal to say the least. No training on tanks or procedures for shippers/receivers. Always giving a specific pickup/delivery time when a lot of times it's open. Was given an older prostar, not a newer Pete. No problem, it's in good running condition, however, it smells like someone urinated on everything and mostly in the air vents. Supposedly, they'll get me into a newer truck very soon. The customers seem to have 0 respect for irt, often making us wait while loading/unloading others ahead of us, even if we were there first or have appointments. Double check directions to customers. They've been incorrect 3 out of 4 times so far. The trucks do go 70, which is a plus. Maintenance is great from what I've seen so far. The terminal in winter Haven is huge, not cramped like some companies. Nice drivers lounge but no showers. They will allow you to bobtail pretty much whenever the trailer can be dropped securely, such as at a customer or while you are at a terminal. This comes in handy at times. They don't bug you at all if you're doing your job. No apus in trucks, but also no idle policy. If I can think of more, or answer questions I will post more.

Update..just found out pay is deposited after 1630..again, not convenient considering if you're pay is incorrect you'll wait til Monday to fix it, because payroll is only available mon-fri 1300-1500. Also, anytime you call any department for anything, don't expect a friendly helpful voice. You'll be treated as if you're interrupting them and you're a nuisance. I didn't make a ton of $ at Boyd Bros, but they treated us like family- always kind and helpful.

IRT Indian River Transport $1500 BONUS

Just finished day 1 of IRT orientation. So far I'm happy with the way they don't waist time getting you the info you need, road test, physical, paperwork, bennifits, videos all done and still got outta there by 1600. Was pleased to learn the bonus is still going on. 750/30-750/90 works for me. Not sure what trucks they will offer. Have seen a lot of Pete 579 on the road but there's a mixture of all sorts in Winter Haven terminal so there's no telling......I'm still gonna ask for the 579 though. All they can say is no. The FL are nice too, shifts good. The Internationals I saw looked worn out but heard they pull good. Not so much concerned about how they pull just wanna be comfortable if I'm gonna be out 3-4 was at a time. All have fridges due to tank samples that need to go to customers. So far I like it, ready to get my dispatch and get moving.

Indian River Transport- The journey begins

I just started with Indian River Transport today. The people seemed nice. There were no surprises. I know about the wait times with these guys loading and unloading but I still found some drivers that were happy. I figured I would give it a try.
I was given a 2014 freightliner with only 60k miles on it. Its a very nice truck.
I am sitting here at TG Lee in Orlando waiting on my first load. The load is going to Murray KY.
I have pulled tanks hauling chemicals just never food grade. This is going to be a new adventure.
I have been on this forum before just thought I would come on here and tell you how my journey with Indian River goes.
Maybe I should go take a nap it might be a while on this load. Thats fine it doesn't deliver until 21:00 Sunday in Murray KY.
I will give you good and bad as it happens.
