Former Employee - Mar 13, 2025

The owner Ion Agreci is a great guy! I worked there for 3 1/2 yrs. Their equipment is top-notch. Ion always kept it serviced regularly. If I ever needed anything for the truck or Conestoga then Ion was always very prompt about getting it. If I ever had a pebbled or wisdom then I always knew I could call ION. My youngest stepson was causing lots of problems at home for a while, and I would have to be home early because of it. I never had a problem getting home when I needed to. If that happened, then I would stay out a few extra days when I went back out to make up for it. I spoke to Ion about it, and Ion told me to take him with me. I told him he was too young according to his rider program rules. He told me to let him know when I wanted him to ride, and he'd change that. Ion is one of the best men I worked for in my 26 yrs! I never had a problem until January 2024. A guy by the name of BILL called and said he was with HR. He said that I was the last driver they had that was still paid milage and asked if I'd be willing to change to % pay? I told him I wasn't sure, and he said some drivers were grossing an extra $350 or $400 a week after switching to %, and I would make lots more money. BILL told me to give it a try for a couple of months, and if I didn't like it, I could switch back to milage pay at any time. I live in Ga, and BILL also said that because they mainly kept me running the Midwest, then I could take my 34-hour break at home every week. BILL told me that each and every time we spoke. After switching to %, I began losing $350 to $400 a week! When I told the owner, Ion Agreci, I wanted to switch back to milage pay, then he said no. When I told him, BILL said I could switch back anytime if I didn't like it, he said that wasn't up to BILL. When I told Ion that BILL also said I could take my 34-hour break at home every week, he said No. He said only the drivers that live in Chicago get to do that because it's easy to route them back there. I spoke with another of their drivers later, who said he was being paid milage. The owner, Ion Agreci, was always straight up and never lied to me. I was lied to every time I spoke to BILL! Lies from BILL #1 I was the only driver still on milage pay. #2 I would make more money if I switched to % pay. #3 I could switch back anytime if I didn't like it. #4 That I could take my 34-hour break at home every week. When I 1st spoke with Ion about the job b4 I was hired and asked him about home time, Ion (the owner) said I would stay out 10 days, be off 3 and then stay out 14 days and be off 4. I normally stayed out 16 days and took 4 off. I did that for a little over 3 years. 1 week when I was due to be home after being out 2 weeks, then I was told I had to call BILL about my home time. BILL said I was spending too much time at home, and he didn't know where I got taking 4 days off every 2 weeks and asked, "Do you have obligations at home or something?" Doesn't everyone? I told him ION AGRECI (THE OWNER) told me when I was hired 10 days out, 3 off, 14 days out, and 4 off. He said I would have to start being out 3 weeks and only home 3 days and still continued the lie that I could take my 34 at home every week! BILL told me that because I've had a couple of accidents, then I was stuck with them because no one would hire me. At the time, I had 26 years of experience. I decided then to hunt another job. I never had a problem with anyone there until BILL, and he was the only person I ever had a problem with. The owner, Ion Agreci, his wife Anna Maria, Victoria in Safety, dispatchers Vasyl and Valaria were great. I didn't appreciate my home time being changed by BILL from what I was told by the "OWNER" ION AGRECI when I started and being LIED to by BILL every time we spoke. If not for BILL, I would most likely still be working there!! ION AGRECI is a great guy to work for. BILL is a liar! If Ion tells you something, then you need to get it in writing, or BILL may change it later!
