Drivers are back stabbers, you don't get taxes taken out of all your pay check so u are making less then half the money you think u are. So they dont match your ss, taxes so make sure u have plenty of money to pay when u are filling your taxes. When u get put on tour other drivers will wine and cry until they get u pulled off tour and they get put on. Dispatches have favorites, lots of favoritism, lots, Home life is never unless you live some place tours go thru. Better have passport cause they go to Canada. Only the Dispatch buddies get new trucks, you'll get their Olds ones. Better make sure you back up on dime. Fast! All night time driving. Never home! I never got paid when I did get home!

Pros

Get lots of swag sometime, back stage passes, sometimes if lead driver likes you. When u are on broadway show u might be able to tickets to show if the lead driver likes you.n

Cons

Never get new truck. Never get home, only make half of what they tell you, because your pay is half perdiem they don't tax or take ss out.

I´ve worked for several New Jersey-based trucking outfits, and this one is okay as a temp job til you can land a real, career-type trucking job. Hauling concert, trade show, and special events gear is not a glamorous lifestyle, the pay and benefits are meager compared to Teamster outfits, and the reality of a life lived in a truck for a month or two at a time can be a bit much to deal with, especially if you have a family and a home. Some concert tours are big-bucks affairs, and you may get a classy hotel room, most other times you´ll be napping in your rig , trying to get some shuteye before pulling an overnighter. You may even do a trade show or events tour, only driving 300-1,000 miles per week, which may make you nuts if you prefer to actually mosey every day. Most tours provide no hotels, so learn to enjoy the inside of your cab. At least you´ll get paid, even if you sit and wait for a few days. Janco never ripped me off on my earnings, everything was paid to the penny, a true rarity in the trucking industry.

Pros

Paid on a daily basis (not mileage)) about half of pay is tax-free per diem, and also paid even when on normal home time Dispatch easy to get along with, especially if they know you're a quality driver who treats trucking like a serious business. Conversely, if you´re so messed up that you can´t even wake up in time to back your trailer to the dock in time for load-out, then you won´t likely be on the company payroll for very long. Equipment in above-average condition, decent maintenance, too.

Cons

The daily grind of an OTR lifestyle stinks, especially If you have a real home, a wife and kids. Despite the generally positive reviews I've shared above, I also encountered various situations within the concert tour industry that weren't anything that I wanted to be even remotely associated with.

Small enough company that they know you by name on the phone, but big enough to provide good equipment.

Pros

Paid 52 weeks a year Newer trucks Friendly office staff

Cons

Due to the nature of the job, not frequent hometime. Dispatch does their very best to get you to the house.
