I switched over from being a company driver to a first-time owner operator with Lioneye about 3 months ago. The rates have been more or less at the level that I was expecting. The home time is flexible and convenient. The equipment is well maintained and haven’t had any issues. While there is no forced dispatch, I wish there was a little more communication between dispatch and driver about which loads were available (i.e. “here’s what’s available, which one would you like?”) Overall, Lioneye is an excellent place for owner-operators to make money, drive how they want to drive, and reach their personal goals.

Pros

Good lanes/rates Dispatch communication is smooth Drive how you wanna drive Fuel card discounts Lease-to-own trailer Pre-pass

Cons

No health insurance

I wouldn't be where I am today as an owner-operator without my Uncles guidance and support. From day one, he took the time to teach me the business the right way. My uncle's dispatching and managing skills are professional and he's going to treat you as a professional, not just a truck number. He's ALWAYS considerate of his drivers and truly treats them like family. I'm living proof of that, once I joined the team, nothing changed. I wasn't treated any differently or given special treatment just because I am his nephew. I was held to the same standards, respected the same way, and supported just like every other driver. That says a lot about his character and how he runs his operation. He's extremely knowledgeable, patient, and willing to answer questions, whether its rates, lanes, maintenance, paperwork, or just all around decision making. He doesn't sugarcoat anything and gives real, honest advice that actually helps you succeed in the long run. If you are serious about trucking and want someone who genuinely cares about your growth and success, you won't find better guidance. I'm grateful for everything he's done and continues to do for me.

I have been here 4 years and was the best move I made. The dispatcher is awesome keeps you moving .never sit around unless you want to. There is always going to be the whiners out there that think it's better on the other side it's not been there.

Pros

The money is always there and on time no messing with money. Always there to help you out. Always answers the phone day or night big plus .been to other companies and don't answer phone. And the pay cks are always there and right .pay is always on Friday.

Cons

No health insurance. But other than that this a good company to work for. I would recommend it to others.

I came over to LionEye Trucking roughly 6 months ago. What peaked my interest with the company, was the fact that they were a small company, where you as a driver and business owner was not just a number. The other attraction was the offer of owning your own refer trailer, in just 36 months, in which your percentage would go up after ownership. The guys over at LionEye has even encouraged its drivers to take ownership of the equipment therefore helping its drivers to grow their business. You’re allowed to run as hard as you want and also take as much time off as needed. LionEye personnel is very family oriented and takes pride in their drivers well being and their families. There’s no forced dispatch and dispatchers have kept me moving, without question. You as driver, can decide where you want to run, based on freight availability and how often you want to run. The dispatchers are very proactive on how runs are scheduled. They’ll give you as much as you want, with what you can handle. My goal here at LionEye, is to add a truck and trailer with a driver in a year, which you’re encouraged to do, should you care to. If you’re an owner operator thats use to running and making 200-300k gross a year, this would definitely be a company that you can achieve that type of success!

Pros
