Have been with S&H Express for a little over a month and a half now. I know that's a relatively short period of time however I am very happy here. Receiving the pay that I was told and getting the hours as well that I was told pre-employment. Dispatcher extremely patient and helpful with me so far. Even though some of the trailers have seen better days, everything is kept well maintained and safe to operate. Late model tractors that are also very well maintained.

Pros

As I said in my basic review, good pay, friendly hours and decent equipment. Can't ask for much more.

Cons

Some other trailers could stand to be upgraded, but again, are safe and well maintained.

Horrible company to work for .. the safety department is the worst . The rules don’t apply to everyone. Favoritism runs rampant!!! Stay away

Pros

This place is so random! it's like laws and regulations only apply when they decide. I was once asked to run on pc for 2 hours before my 14 so that it wouldn't count as on duty.

Pros

it's not going to China.

Cons

too many people has stuartship over your job.

Local driver: Expect to work many 14 hours days. Almost all live loads/unloads mainly Jersey. They don't tell you this until orientation but they take $20 a week from your check till $1000 is reached in case you damage equipment. Never received it back when I left. If you don't work 90 days for them, you must pay for your drug test and physical. The health insurance they offer has a $3500 deductible. Their trailers are horrible. No preventive maintenance. Their $1400 a week "Guarantee" isn't squat if you work 70 hours a week. That's=$20 an hour. You can do better!

Pros

Early start times.

Cons

Too many stressful days getting home with a few minutes on 14hr clock. Trailers crappy. Many rusted out till lights fall out. Never saw any equipment red tagged.

They shut down operations in November with a week's notice. The 2 women dispatching out of Clearwater FL I think skimmed money of my loads. Never worked on Fridays, they were more interested in making Walmart deliveries and babysitting. Chump change pay, the lowest I've ever made as an owner operator. Management in York are also liars, inflated 1099's, failure to pay loads until I caught them, I spoke to another person there, a few honest people in that company I suppose. But Lori and Brianna, are dishonest.

Pros

Home daily.

Cons

Low pay on loads. Frequent wrong info on loads, like locations and times. Skimming $ off loads.
