Don’t waste your time here. Trucks and Trailers are used with many problems. Maintenance is a joke. Their terminal yard is a junk yard.

Pros

Do not have any thing to say.

Cons

Do your own research in this company. You will be glad you did

I was holding off releasing this review in the hopes that Specialized Transport would do the right thing and pay me for work performed, but even after speaking to management about the circumstances that forced me to leave being out of my control they have not paid me for my last week worked. So here is an accurate account Hiring: treated very well, put up in a 2-3 star hotel for orientation which only last 2 days. They supplied a rental car to get me from my home to their office at least 600+ miles. Office staff and dispatcher: Very nice and friendly (REQUIRED PAGE TO BE SIGNED AGREEING IF DRIVER LEFT BEFORE 6 MONTHS ALL MONIES SPENT ON RENTAL CAR, HOTEL, DRUG SCREEN, ETC WILL BE REPAID) Lunch provided both days. Equipment provided: a 10 year old Freightliner Cascadia that had 950k miles on it. Outside damage on nearly every body panel, cab extenders missing on both sides, no fridge, no microwave, no Apu, not even remotely clean, it seemed like a truck they pulled out of a junk yard. Promise: "you will be put in a brand new truck they're supposed to be have in last week." (But when dispatch was asked about new truck after a week, and complaining at the unbelievable condition of truck dispatcher said "That's trucking" as if this truck and its condition was normal. When first started driving this the brakes grabbed so hard and pulled to the right so bad you had to anticipate that and turn wheel left to attempt to compensate. No Apu meant had to idle truck for any A/C or heat. Woke up smelling exhaust and thought it was from the previous repair of turbo (was told by vehicle mgr) Had to take truck in to T/A for air leak. Truck would lose air on both primary and secondary tanks constantly that caused countless times "having to Air it up to get transmission to go in Drive or Reverse. While there informed 3 exhaust leaks, 3 bad slack adjusters and DEF was by passed. Hole is floor under drivers feet had been covered up with a floor mat. Technician agreed truck was "Death trap" After this I decided to leave company and informed vehicle Mgr of exhaust smell and needed to bring truck back to TN. Truck and trailer returned to "Yard" and keys left in truck and one key for door/Ignition stowed under hood so no way to get locked out of truck after dropping it off. Originally contacted Vehicle Mgr to ask about retrieving $500 tool bag, had family medical issue had to move time, informed Vehicle Mgr this change, contacted him again a week later to say I was on my way and ETA that night was 7:30PM. Informed at 11:30AM to call vehicle mgr back at 4:30-5:00PM. I attempted a call, no answer. Left message requesting time and location for me to get the tool bag. 5 min after sending text repeating my request to pickup tool bag. Mr.Mike calls me screaming, telling me I left the company and I am not to order him to do anything. Here is word for word the communication regarding this, also told be noted is he threat "you may get your tools tonight and you may not" Hey vehicle mgr as I'm sure you know i dropped my truck off last night. I forgot to get all my tools in the side boot in a blue tool bag and my new seat cushion on the driver seat. I'll be by sometime Monday to get them. Thanks so much! Hey, just tried to call you.I'm going to be there around seven fifteen.Your time but I don't expect you to wait for me if you just want to put it in the truck with the truck unlocked.I can get it out or if you want to pull it out.And put it right by the sidewalk, by the front.Door of the office thereThat's fine. It's the gracie cushion and the blue tool bag.If you have any questions, you can give me a call. Thanks This is his response after his accusation Im leaving Nashville now. Cushion and tool bag are in truck it is pulled up to building on entrance side. Truck should be unlocked, if it is not, let me know. I thanked him as it appeared things had calmed down and I could get my belongings and get on with my life. Thank you very much.I appreciate it.I'm sorry about the miscommunication earlier.I never in a million years would order anyone to do anything. So I appreciate it thank you. But when I arrived the truck was no where to be found, I called him, as I again thought things were going to be OK. He said he'd be there in 20 minutes. I, having a law enforcement/military background felt he was playing games and did not want to chance any confrontation so I contacted the Sheriff's office and had a deputy stand by when he arrived to facilitate me retrieving my belongings without incident. vehicle mgr arrived and immediately after talking with the deputy became hostile with him and my bag and belongings were found behind a locked gate (He knew full well I couldn't retrieve my belongings and he wanted to play games) After coming back out from behind the fenced gate I asked where my stuff was, it was at this point he said " NOW I WANT TO TELL YOU SOMETHING" I said no, I want my stuff and want to leave, finally after being again hostile with me and the deputies (there were 3 there by this time) i got my stuff and left. I repeatedly told him I wanted my stuff and did not do anything wrong in leaving the company and he was to blame for putting me is such a piece of Sh!&t truck to being with. All of this took place while no mention of the phantom "new truck" until I called mgmt to complain about the incident with vehicle mgr It was at this time during this call I asked mgmt again for my last check seeing the harassment and childish games I was subjected to by MM. As of this day (2 weeks later no payment) So I am submitting this very lengthy review and personal account of my experience with Specialized transport solutions......

I've been driving for about 6 years. I made the transition to specialized and oversized loads 4 months ago. Ive had a great time. You don't have to run yourself into the ground to make a decent paycheck. The pay per mile is great. Everyone is easily accessible and they want to help you succeed. I live on the road, but I've never heard complaints from the guys that want/need time off.

Pros

I highly recommend

Cons

Nothing yet

STS is the best company I've ever worked for. None of the big companies care about what's going on in my life other than the truck. They treat me like family and get me home when I need to be there. My father recently passed and I was out for more than a week. No one had any issues and they even sent flowers.

Pros

Feels like family

Cons

The positives outweigh any negatives
