The equipment is decent, the hours are long. Pay is hourly, waiting to be loaded can take a very long time - for which you are paid. Shuttle drives doubles over night, the most difficult part are the overnight roads of Michigan and northern Indiana unplowed, icy and generally dangerous. Add to that running doubles on the ice and driving can get difficult.

Pros

Good pay. Regular days off. Great benefits

Cons

Nights can be very long. A ton of hours not much life balance

Sysco Baltimore/Jessup is a Joke, there is a 5 month probation before you get picked up by the Union, the points system they have in place makes it very hard for new drivers. They have SIM Sarah in all the trucks, driver facing cameras with a zero tolerance on mobile devices while driving which would be ok if The transportation department wasn't constantly calling its drivers forcing them to pick up the phone while they're behind the wheel setting them up for failure. The equipment is dirty and substandard and you spend most of your time trying to have the trucks repaired then when you get out to do your run you're behind schedule. This place is a revolving door of Employees both in the Warehouse and transportation department.

Pros

You'll make great money here $26 to start, 15 hours a day

Cons

Zero work & home balance, Substandard equipment/ dirty, routes are poorly planned, You don't get the $10,000 sign on bonus until after 5 months of being employed they split up the sign on bonus in increments the first month you'll receive $2,000 pre tax which = $1,200, $2000 pre tax by the 3rd & $1,000 by the end of month 5, if you're lucky enough to make it past 5 months then you'll eventually get the $10,000 but getting past the 5 months that's the trick, no health insurance until after you
