Could be a very good company to work for if management really offered better pay, and made sure that the equipment is updated or maintained properly. There also needs to be a level of respect given to the great team of drivers, by the train masters so that everyone gets the fuel they need in a timely matter with no last minute or priority yards, especially on the CSX side. There is just no excuse for old half or not working equipment being exchanged for new equipment, when something has to go to the shop or equipment repeatedly being repaired because of bad mechanics/shops in this day and time, especially hauling fuel. Also being a sight leader is just not a position everyone can effectively handle, and ends up running large groups of drivers away on a yearly basis.

Pros

Great team of drivers and floaters that are willing to help you out with anything you need to do your job to the fullest on a daily. Weekly pay, double pay on holidays if scheduled to work, new equipment being phased in, some downtime on certain days while on duty. There are some good people in management that will go above and beyond if you have pay issues, etc.

Cons

Management needs to be more proactive on whatever it takes for driver retention, equipment whether new or old is not maintained no matter how much the drivers make it known through pre/post trips, expired cab cards, etc… Certain rail yards having priority and flexing it, which keeps other yards from getting fuel for days. Having to have another driver fill your slot if you want to take time off that you’ve earned, and possibly being denied that time off because of this. If I work 5 days a week,

This place is run by children who cry if you go out and fuel a train and actually do your job. They run a unsafe and cut throat compition to be the best. They don't like anyone new or actually who wants to do well. Low pay for the extreme hazards especially at the Bailey Yard. Very dangerous work and no quality supervision.

Good start in the tanker world. Set number of hours a week with mando overtime (x1.5). Raises, holiday pay, sick pay. Easy work on most days too.

Pros

Laid back, steady pay, opportunities to make more money/ advancement, train at your own pace.

Cons

The equipment in some yards is generally old and prone to breaking down. Also, most new drivers have an E restriction and many yards with Velocity have manuals, so if someone gets fired/ quits there's a manpower shortage that can last months.

I didn't get paid for 3 weeks and the job pays weekly, management is trash and God forbid you to drive a nicer car than they do or have your life together and don't need all the overtime they force you to work. I would give this place 0 stars, especially the Norfolk VA location, it is a clown show over there. they will fire you or ask you to resign if speak up for yourself and set boundaries on disrespect and gossipy behavior. I was doing well before you hired me and doing better after I resigned.

Pros

The pay if you can tolerate the B.S

Cons

Do your research on this company via Indeed or Google and look at the previous employee's responses. everyone can't be lying about this company.
