Where do I start, i am not sure how they treat company drivers, but if they treat them anything like the contract drivers then this goes for all drivers. Contractors are treated like a glorified company driver. Best way to describe that. Orientation is not paid for, trainings are not paid for, if you take a flight or a rental car they will pay for it but you have to pay them back, they don't tell you this unless you asked, you get three days in orientation, and they will put you in the La Quinta that is near by, the hotel will pick you up from the airport, or or the car rental return and the hotel takes you and picks you up from the WFX Terminal, WFX does not pick you up or take you back to the hotel, WFX will feed you lunch and dinner during the orientation period DOMINOES for all three days. WFX will crame a-lot a-lot of information down your throat Drugs test, driver test, paperwork, more paperwork quickly go over your lease with the company and for the truck. A lot of speakers. The truck will not be clean when you pick out your truck(might even have someone else belongings still in the truck) they don’t give you the factory keys for it either, (they told me they don’t get the e factory keys when they get the trucks). They pay door to door but by the shortest route available, I have been looking at the map book, because they use PC Miler and IT WILL ROUTE THROUGH A NON-TRUCK ROUTE, be careful this has happened many tomes already. The Pay isn't actually what you get paid, for example if they pay $1.15 per mile subtract $.28 per mile for truck payment, $.12 per mile (truck mileage under 400k) or $.17 (truck mileage over 400k) that is what you will get paid. Thats what you truck payment will be, and than the other deductions from weekly payment. Dispatchers aren’t bad doing their job job. However, I will say the company will micromanage you as much as possible My is her best however, plans makes booking loads, sing nearly impossible. I have booked my own loads, dealing with company, on load board’s and I have booked my loads dealing with brokers. It is difficult to deal with brokers, but not as difficult as this company makes it. Plans don’t look at your profile screen to make sure you have enough time, home time or animals in your truck such as some DCS don’t allow passengers and or pets in the vehicle on their property. As most of us drivers know this when it comes to home time, it seems like booking a load going to your hometown is even worse booking a load if you decline a load be prepared to sit for at least another day. Company only uses loves truck stops. and you can only get fuel if you’re dispatched under a load so get fuel when you have a load or you’ll be waiting to get fuel until after you get out the Night Shift and weekend shift don’t do hardly anything every time that I have called them, they have always told me wait till you can talk to your fleet manager in the morning. When it comes to home time, I have requested it three times wants to go get my service dog second time just to have home time for a break and now coming up on the third time some important stuff such as appointments. The company primarily plans will send you to the furthest opposite side of the country to make it harder for you. Go home on time. The company does not have many terminals route the country. But when you go to one, you will sit in line waiting to get inspected before you can park your truck whether or not you have hours on HOS. I have also been told not to go to a terminal if you are under a load. The reason, why is you have a higher risk of getting put out of service for your truck and or trailer? My question was if the truck or trailer needs work then it needs work., If we got it, pulled into a DOT inspection and the trailer failed because we couldn’t get it fixed whose fault is it? Who’s fine is it and who citation will be not the companies. So I go to the terminal to get whatever fixed so I don’t get cited. The company does have some good points to it. You get your truck and trailer looked at my mechanic every time you go into a terminal. The company will top off your DEF fluid. They do have good quality trucks. I do like the payment plan. They have in place to get your truck. I don’t like the fact that you have to have it for 750,000 K wish I was a lot lower like around 500 to 600,000. This might sound funny to say, but they are dog, friendly more than home time friendly it seems.

Pros

Pets, good equipment, decent maintenance program, orientation, hotel, Oklahoma City terminal location, a lot of restaurants, stores nearby, easy to schedule home time

Cons

Hard to get home for home time, Plans make it hard for booking dirty trucks while picking out one, no orientation pay

They are starting experienced drivers out at .34 a mile. I have 13 years and they told me .34 a mile. That's no money and that's all I needed to know about them.

I am currently employed with western flyer xpress and I HATE it! Worst L/P EVER!! I've been here almost a month and I was told by my recruiter that my first check would be between $800 and $900! In reality, it was $311.00!!! My second check I was told would be about $1500! My check was $3400 but all I got of it was $595.00!! The company took the rest! They force you to buy a bumper guard for $1,500 ($100.00 a week til paid for). They route you and tell where to fuel! I signed a contact for a 2014 Freightliner Cadcadia (junk) but was actually assigned a 2013 Freightliner Cascadia! Supposed to be governed at 70mph, try 64mph on peddle AND cruise!! Truck won't pull hills for ##### and tranny slips when downshifting to 8th and 7th going up hill! My APU has stopped blowing hot or cold air!! I told my dispatcher I need to be routed to the terminal to have my truck fixed but he said "Deliver the load to Auburn, Washington and then we'll route you to Ok City!" Are you serious!?! I told him, I can't afford to idle my truck for warmth, because the fuel money comes out of MY pocket!! So he offers to put $150.00 on my EFS card so I can stay in a motel room on my 10 hour breaks!! Hi never agreed to this but he put the money on my card then sends me a message on my Qualcomm regarding the "Cash Advance"!?!? What's the difference if I idle and lose money or they take my money for #### advances for motel rooms!?!? Also with the lease, you can have a dog up to 30lbs for a NON REFUNDABLE $500.00!! $1000 if you want a cat!!! Basically you're a company driver who is paying for their junk equipment!! Also it's forced dispatch!! If I'm leasing the truck I should be able to refuse loads!! They charge you for everything!!! Your best bet is to just stay away!!!!!

Wait till you quit and they put BS on your DAC report. They put on my DAC report that they had a lot of complaint about me. That was BS. They never once called me into the office about any complaints.

Glad somebody got on here and told the truth about thier

Lease scam.its sad.

Used to be a great OTR job when they had just company drivers there.

I left about 6 months after they started leasing trucks.

They ran most of the company drivers off.

Truth is they don't want company drivers anymore,

I was in the shop office when they were adding up how

Much money they could make of the .10 cpm maintence

Fund that they charge lease drivers on new trucks that already have a full warranty.

3000 miles a week, that's 300 bucks per truck for nothing

More than tires and cosmetics, and they do all the work in

Thier shop. Multiply that by a 100 trucks that's 30,000 per week and I'm sure they've got more lease drivers than that now.

It's a gold mine for them.

Not to mention leased drivers:

Pay all thier income taxes themselves:

Pay all tolls out of thier pocket:

No pre pass or ez pass:

Breakdown you pay for the motel room.

They will not keep you on that run, they offer these loads to get you in the door. They are finding it harder to get drivers to work for them, the word is getting out how they lie and rob drivers. They also use a off site recruiting service to get more drivers and they lie to get there money for each driver they get to work there. If you go you will find out.
