Trash equipment forcing you out with out of service vehicles. Making a person feel like livestock. Micromanaging on a out of this world level.

I found this company completely overkill and what lost my interest completely was, the safety guy stated they do gate checks periodically while having a D.O.T. officer at the gate. They put a sticker somewhere on the tractor or trailer for you to find in which you have to give back at the gate check. If you dont, you get pointed. The point system for attendance was 6 points, those points do not roll off until the following year on the day you missed. They also have saftey points, some in which is an automatic termination. During the interview, you have to do a full on pre trip inspection and road test that is graded, doesn't matter if you've been driving for years, you have to do this. Once hired, you'll spend 1.5 weeks in orientation training. Again, you'll have to do another graded pre trip inspection "overkill". Calling off, you have to call in 3 hours prior to your start time. This company is pure overkill. That being said, if you want to put up with being micro managed like a convict? The pay seemed pretty good: $35.24 an hour with OT pay after 45 hours at the South Bend, IN terminal.

They act like they're family oriented, but don't let that fool you. They're all about the bottom line. They don't give a flying #### about you as a person, your just a number.

the way it works is the last person who touched the freight if it gets damaged and it was not your fault you will still be held accountable and penalized. They pin damage freight on you regard less to satisfy their customers. You do not get any sick days, so if you are sick with a flu you will get points and it is a 6 point system then automatically termination. Any call out is 1 point. You cannot just call out the day or day before it has to be an opening and approved. There are no personal days. There is an 8 motor move count rule and if you do not meet the mark, you will be coached if it continues, 3 coachings, 1 written, 1 final then termination. You have to be on constant pens and needles in this company. They expect you to strap the freight, put plywood around it which is time consuming and still keep up 8 motor move count. Everything at this company is a disciplinary, they have an outrageous turn over, I worked at xpo for 2 years and watched over 75 to 100 employees be terminated, some had 10, 15, 20 years in, great experienced workers and they pointed out for things other companies would over look or handle differently especially after being a great employee. Xpo at Charlotte nc NCH do not care or value any of that they will terminate an employee with 20 years in just like an employee who has 1 month in. The human resource department is terrible and do not listen to the employees concerns they just terminate. The service center manager is terrible all he cares about is the freight and if the freight comes back damage pin it on whoever last touched it whether if it is their fault or not, I personally was told this by a supervisor who disagrees with the service center manager. Before this guy came they said the terminal was not this bad. But now it is micro management at an all time high just look at the ratings, xpo is one of the leading in freight companies in the country, but if you look at the Charlotte NC facility you will see has horrible ratings. Do not be fooled by the pay and persona this site is horrible management it is a slave plantation. Work here at your own risk , look at it as a paycheck do not look at it as a career. -

Worked with xpo for five years when I transferred to Memphis from Nashville all things went to ####. Their management staff is a joke and the company doesn't care about you or you family. All their equipment is old and out dated and they fire anyone for anything to prove that they should keep their jobs
