I've been with Blue Lightning now for 13 years and plan on retiring with them. They're a smaller company currently experiencing some growing pains (mostly thanks to Covid) but the owner is always just a phone call away. He has always treated me fairly and that's been my number one issue after being treated poorly at previous employers. There is money to be made here for hard working drivers. Conditions are typical for the industry. Non-forced dispatch, variety of reefer loads, flexible home time, plenty of miles for those that want to stay out longer, and pay that is competitive with similar companies.

Pros

Small enough to know everyone personally.

Cons

Trouble getting some of the better contracts but then it's the same for any small company.

The owner is a bona-fide USDA APPROVED LIAR! stay far away from this halfway company! You'd be lucky to to run 3 days out of a week! Dispatchers throws you under the bus for their mistakes! Had to file a wage claim for our escrow! I believe the owner is going bankrupt

Dedicated run and broker loads, tell you pay on dedicated is good on paper but after fuel and weekly good you my get a check or Zero pay, can't pay your bills once there, you work at end of week no pay. Received 3 direct deposits in 3 months which wasn't even $5000.00 stay away from this company! Because all the drivers I know work in this industry to make a living, also put a devise on my truck which caused major electrical and computer problems which costed me a major maintenance bill so after 3 months with these people I'm out of my truck and 3 months behind on everything stay away from them!!!

Pros

Talk a good talk,Runaway

Cons

The best ones in the industry (conartist)!!!
