I applied to work for Centerline Driversway back in February of 2024. I have only been assigned to 2 jobs. If you're a CDL license driver. I'm warning you to not waste any of your time applying to Centerline Drivers. You'll stay broke and outside homeless.

Pros

Could potentially become a decent company if it has daily jobs for the Drivers.

Was with centerline about 20 months. Always a hard worker, never complained and zero accidents etc. Then the day comes where I take a flight from fort Wayne Indiana to Minneapolis saintpaul for 5 week assignment like usual. I drive an hour and a half to the airport where I park my pickup. Gas to airport and parking costs me about 250.00 check my luggage which I never bill them for another 30.00 each way my ticket doesn't show a seat number but says will assign at gate. Get boarded but the flight was over booked so they offered a voucher after no one taking it and knowing the flight was only about 600 miles. I was also in the process of moving to Nevada after this assignment was over. I decided I would save the expense of parking and the voucher would compensate for my time and gas. Nothing different still be there to start in the morning on time. Got a message asking if I made it to the airport and I explained I did and was driving and wasn't charging for my mileage and drive time and we can just keep it the same with 8 hour min. Nothing crazy just a decision I thought made sense. Long and behold it went south. The client would of saved over 500.00 for the flight since I never rebooked. I would of stared on time moved my truck closer to my new home and not have to pay for parking. They acted like I sold my seat when all I did was choose to drive at my expense.

I’m a mobile driver, have been driving with them since mid October 2020-present. Equipment wise—the companies they have contracts with take really good care of their equipment (that’s if drivers actually do pre-trips and note issues on DVIRs of course and make sure mechanics get their stuff fixed), so that hasn’t been a problem with 3 carriers I’ve worked with (Quickway, Hogan, Ryder). Home time is dependent on you. The mobile assignments are 5 weeks out minimum, but home time depends on YOU. If you want a week home, or two, you tell them and they won’t call you until a day or two before you’re done vacationing (I even extended my stay to 3 weeks when I woke up 2 days before I was gonna go out and I literally couldn’t lift up my right shoulder above shoulder length—they didn’t have a problem with letting me get better). They’ll have you go out to do whatever type of work/loads you wanna do (Touch/no-touch/drop&hook/regional/flatbed/automatic only/manual transmission) and you can also choose the job you wanna do based on driver feedback, pay, etc. The mobile division is for Road Warriors and not a homebody type of person. If you’re really just needing a lot of pay (over 100k/year), mobile is the way to go. The pay is hourly ($24-32/hr depending on what their contract agreement with the customer/carrier, OT AFTER 40 HOURS), weekly pay—average take home for me is $2300/week after taxes (also a minimum guarantee of 8 hour days is paid if you happened to work less than 8 in a day—if you work 1 hour, they’ll pay you the full 8, or if you were sat, but have a lot of time available to work and have called in to work and was told to wait to hear back or so), holidays are paid as well at 8 hours (I believe they pay 5 or 6 holidays), per diem ($30/day for all days you’re out including your travel days to/from), all flights paid for and hotels/car rentals. If you are in a day cab and need a hotel and can’t get a hold of anyone to get you a room, just pay for it and they’ll reimburse you up to $120/night (taxes included) on the same pay period’s check (just upload the receipt on the payroll website when you’re doing your time card for that week). My low on hours is 60, my highest was 83 hours, I usually average close to 80/week. I’m a runner and I go hard. As of 9/9/2021, I have made a total of 113k (since my first check on October 23, 2020) with them (88k so far this year since January). Work with them has been very consistent and I’m expecting to hit 120k by December. But of course, my home time has been 7 weeks since I started here. I get my assignments, I go out and deal with the carrier and don’t hear from Centerline until 2-3 days before I leave to go home to get my travel arrangements done. I have not had any issues with them at all. And I hope to keep it that way. The only time Centerline gets a phone call from me is when I’m being sat by the carrier and not getting at least 60 hours a week. That’s the only time I complain, because I work 6 days a week and only do my 34. The best time to guarantee yourself hours is to let the carrier know that you want to work weekends, they will appreciate that because most of their local drivers take weekends off when there’s work that needs to be done. One awesome thing about them is if after your assignment is done and you want to go to Vegas for a week off, they will fly you there (or anywhere in the 48 states), and fly you back to work from there. Or if you want to fly yourself home from Vegas, they’ll fly you from home to work (they won’t fly you home after flying you to Vegas). I don’t know any other company that does that. That’s my experience with Centerline. Sorry for the novel ???????? ** A little pro tip: I redo my W-4 around July/August, and exempt myself from paying Federal income taxes. I keep more of my money that way and never really owe anything to Uncle Sam—pay just a little over what I need to pay, and keep majority of my paychecks—about a grand more per month. Use the Tax Estimator calculator on the IRS website, it’ll tell you if you paid way too much on taxes or not. Hope that helps brothers. Keep truckin ????????????????????????

• No paid time off • Bad home time if you’re wanting to be home in less than 5 weeks but have the choice to stay home for as long as you want • Horrible health insurance plans but you could afford to pay for your own private insurance and claim it on your taxes if it exceeds 10% of income • No 401k or retirement plan (I contribute to my own IRA)

3 year award winning CDL driver for Centerline and a National Publication while working for them has come to an immediate end. Since day one the staff and management have been rude, non responsive, and in emergency situations don't respond for 3 to 7 days. A great Christmas bonus every year is a Red Fire Truck sent via email that says Happy Holidays. They say you are not a number but you are a number. Had a situation with the hotel i was in where i did nothing wrong at all and they didn't have my back whatsoever. This is a terrible company unless all you care about is money. The assignments you are put on do pay extremely well but when it comes to them having youre back, they will stab it before you even sleep at night hence you will wakeup with a knife in youre back. The staff is horribly rude. They don't care about you or youre needs only the clients needs.
