Love it here, not perfect by any stretch but not job is.The sky is the limit but a driver needs to be very smart and motivated and learn to solve problems. I've been here 6 years and been driving for 17 and I've never had a manager like we have in Trina.

Pros

Trina Swan,terminal manager.

This job can be whatever a driver wants it to be. If you're smart and self motivated (not a cry-baby) then you can kill it here at the pensacola terminal.

Pros

Management and our new safety team are great!

Cons

Our maintenance personnel leaves a lot to be desired!

Great company been here 21 years .Home everyday, since the pay raise no complaints the pay is about the same as other gas haulers better than most, go anywhere from 200 to 500 miles a day gas loads and diesel and some diesel loads that have above-ground tanks you pump into. Love it great job!

Pros

You want to make money the more loads you run the more you make. Its on how hard you want to work.

Thanks so much for sharing your feedback. We’re glad you’re part of the Florida Rock and Tank team!

Former Employee - Jul 11, 2021

Mangers lie to the drivers, office personnel and shop employees, they were charging customers $75 for pump loads and paying the drivers $15 for dsl and $25 for gas. Drivers don't get paid for all of their detention time. Its very hard to get your vacation time approved. Management talks about their drivers calling them dumb and lazy. Management will have drivers operating in violation of DOT rules and regulations. Management will sometimes have unsafe equipment on the road knowing that it's not safe. There is no room for growth. There are unhappy drivers that work there because of the treatment from management.

Love my home time. Pay is very fair and competitive. Benefits seem a little better than most of the competitors.

Pros

Home time. Pay. Benefits. Opportunities. Pace of industry. Safety. Incentives.

Cons

Sometimes days can be a little long but typically 10-12 hours

Florida Rock and Tank Lines

They're about your typical run of the mill tank outfit down here. Never worked for them personally but I hear mixed reviews. They advertise 12 hour shifts, you'll most likely start on nights and weekends and move up from there. If you have 26 years your doors should be wide open in the Tampa area, there's a lot of tank companies with terminals in the area in and around the port. In my opinion with your experience level you could find better, but it's a good place to start once you get here and move on from there once you learn the area.
