I worked at the Caldwell idaho address. I was a carryover from Holman transport after Leonards bought them out I worked at that address a total 11 years. It has gone downhill since Leonards bought them out. I don’t think it has anything to do with Leonards Express in general, but Rob, the branch manager I think he’s running a place into the ground personally, they pushed all the employees to hurry and review leonards for best trucking companies to work for reviews.then they announced no more holiday bonuses. they also failed to do promised annual reviews for pay raises..

Pros

New trucks. Lots of miles.

Cons

630 miles per shift minimum to make scheduled appts. 10 hours maximum sleeper berth time.. 3 weeks out 2 days home. Driver facing camera. No job security. Micro managing 100%

Leonards Express prides themselves in safety over service but gives you loads that you can't make during the winter months due to weather. They will constantly flop your clock to have you drive days and then say nights. This company is not woman friendly. They encourage women to apply for the demographic. If you're a younger woman, save yourself the trouble and go to Swift. They'll treat you better and you won't get fired because of risk control not liking that you disagreed with them. They use the dashcams to spin their own narratives about who you are as a driver. None of them have the credentials to tell a CDL holder how to drive but do it anyway as a desk jockey does.

Pros

There is literally nothing good about them.

Cons

Everything. Communication sucks. They can't keep you running consistently. Risk control is awful. No one in the office is trustworthy.

I had thought that this company was good. I was wrong. There is no family here. The Benefits are atrociously horrible. The medical is super expensive and covers nothing. The company gives next to no PTO or sick time, and then wont show you what you have to use it. The Driver appreciation was terrible; may as well not have it and just say you hate us. They have gone from a good company to now a fair/ poor company , all in the last 6 months..Im now ashamed to work here unfortunately

Pros

home time, ok trucks, allowed to have CBs, and satellite radio

Cons

poor benefits, like alot of others, they really dont give craps about you. you have to fight to get them to give basic things. HR doesnt want to hear from you. Safety only wants to yell at you. They expect 200% out of you and to give back 40%. there pay is terrible (Practical miles is horrible) They wont do anything extra unless you call them out

I didn't have a good experience at all out of the Idaho Terminal. The terminal manager Rob was talking down to me and my safety lady Lyndsey hates drivers she was so 2 faced. dishonest and untrustworthy. I was so stressed and mad when I left that place. My truck had 400 ,000 miles on it broke down twice in 4 weeks. Out of 4 trailers I had 2 of them broke and had to go to the shop. I got mechanical violations during the dot blitz. and was blamed for the faulty equipment. I would never recommend working out of the Idaho terminal They are so awful and plus they have junky equipment.

Pros

dispatcher and loads

Cons

everything else

If you are a true trucker with true work abilities, attitude, ability to get the load in out down the road and to the other place shipper or reciever early, safe, effective and efficiently. Stay away from working here. You're better then this place. You will sit for days no load, you will get to your shipper, reciever without proper info to deliver and pickup. Your frustration will get to you with how they want you to be so efficient yet they lack competence. Do yourself a favor save yourself from the frustration, apply elsewhere

Pros

I don't have 5. 6 months youd think at least one thing would be a pro. Truck has indoor plumbing when it rains and snows..? Could be a pro if you need a shower. Home time is plentiful.

Cons

Miles are zip to zip but adds say practical. Equipment in shop constantly. DA competency is very troubling.

.40cpm on all miles always on Craigslist, no wonder why gross 685.00 net 300.00 been going on since January 2016. Always have to fight with pay roll. If you like fighting for your pay every payday Leonards Express is for you. They use to be a good company today that can't be said.Good Luck if you decide to drive for leonards 1100 mile weeks and always live unloading is for the birds.

Leonards Express Farmington NY

I worked for leonards, drove regional 5 days a week. Didnt care to do long haul. i averaged close to 2000 a week not leaving the North east. i was home every friday and didnt leave till monday morning.

There is a reason why some drivers don't get miles, because the more capable drivers take it from them. Trust me, there were problems at leonards, but they always had the miles for me because i did my job and did it well.

i left leonards because i was offered a better job driving local and being able to come home every day. plus better pay. the only thing bad about leonards is the drivers there. bunch of cry babies who want something for nothing.

The drivers have more than ruined this place, with being lazy and crashes and just plain stupidity, they have no one to blame but themselves.

And oh yea, the have a first class payroll office, never once had a problem with them and my pay.

I worked there for 3 years doing there local gig out of scranton and they had there moments where they could piss me off but for most part they were fair to me, sorry you had a bad experience but like that last guy there was always plenty of loads to do. if you had Andy as your dispatcher that could have been your problem as he was a bad apple up there.. I would have stayed longer but moved and they didn't offer local where I moved to.
