Pros
Pay always on time. Miles are what they quote you. Dispatchers actually care. Good miles. Mostly drop and hook freight. Nice trailers, and maintained vehicles. Other drivers have helped me out, and I've helped some others... Plenty of time on most loads. Plans at least a day ahead of time for what's next.
Cons
Fuel bonus is affected by safety quiz's online every month, as well as inspections. Not enough space at the terminal for many more trucks and trailers, yet they are trying to grow to double the amount of trucks in the fleet... so the yard is often packed with nowhere to park.

The driver who left the remarks on Oct. 12th is full of crap, and I know exactly who it is. He had problems during orientation, and quit within a week of being in the truck. He complained nonstop about the lack of manual transmission trucks. He simply is smearing the company because he was not a good driver and wasn't a good employee. As for my review of the company... I started in the industry with CRST. So my opinions are based on only driving for 2 companies now... I don't run very hard, and still get between 2600 and 3300 miles a week. Most of my trips are to and from the same locations multiple times a week, if not monthly. My checks are about or over 1000 every week, and I've been picking up more miles lately. I've never had an issue with a settlement being paid, and I have never been lied to. The truck is well maintained, and their express lane/inspection lane keeps the basic things like air and fluids taken care of easily... I have been treated very well, and can not complain about anything other than the requirement to take online surveys to be eligible for your monthly bonuses. The office staff is friendly, and it is somewhat of a family... The dispatchers spend a lot of time and effort into the drivers and making sure things are handled. With 3 or 4 people involved in the daily routines of 70 trucks... these guys are doing a great job. The miles are out here with Outwest, anyone complaining simply doesn't know how to run. Plain and simple. Pay is always on time. I've never had an issue with finding a trailer, or being able to bobtail to one of our drop and hook customers. I love driving for Outwest Kansas City.

Starting with the recruiter and it just gets worse after that.

I've been driving for over 6 years now and I can honestly say that Outwest Express is hands down the worst company I have ever worked for. I don't have the space or time here but will say STAY AWAY!! Unless you like working for free.
