it's likely not gonna work and not gonna happen without a lot of headaches and work. that 2024 engine is designed to work with emission controls attached. the wiring is likely far different from your 2007. you'd have to find someone to reprogram the ecm on the new engine to work without emmisons. it would be a cluster. rebuild your current engine

Thats been the word of 3 of y'all so far, its not that much of a gain anyhow. I am going to rebuild it and not worry about the headache involved with this wiring and all else involved, it is after all designed to work with emissions controls like you said, so lacking those would probably cause some kind of malfunction. Regardless, I have sent the email. If they get back to me with some neat little upgrades that help boost efficiency I will let you know, but as far as that big grand idea i had, thank you to everyone for telling me i was being crazy. Going to take the money i save and splurge on a fancy paint scheme. I love some pinstripes.

You may be able to get a new short block in a crate and put all the 2007 stuff on that but if you go full tilt engine it will have to stay with everything required as its manufactured year.

you'd be far better off if you could find someone that can tune your 2007. a nice turbo upgrade with a custom flash file could boost your mpg and smiles per mile

As several have said it’s going to be a cluster fer. My guess (only a guess) is most of the improvements are in the ecm which will come with all the emissions bs.
Just did some work on a 12.7 Detroit it’s getting 8.7mpg pulling a spread axle flatbed grossing 75-80k 85% loaded miles Midwest to east coast. just a thought no idea how hard it would be to physically make it happen and yes it will be a wiring pita

I like that idea, there is a man named Steven Kron who runs this Detroit 12.7 from hell with +10mpg average after some tasteful modifications and a dd15 turbo. I am super jealous of what he has managed to do. I want to steal the blue print and copy it word for word if he would publish his work

The engine manufacture year dictates what you can and can not do. 2024 engine year, 2024 emissions. This is the law.
    Have you talked to him?

I would not let anyone try to tune a Mack, they can be a finicky engine and if it ever hits a Mack shop, it can get all wiped out if they find a tune.

Throw an old E tech in it and call it a day

Surely Mack has a replacement compliant engine with warranty -or- short bock with warranty.
