Are you sure you do not have a few more questions?

    1. What is the serial number of your TND - on the back - bottom right.

    2. Give me the starting\ending locations. Sounds like a truck attribute is not set right on the roads in that area. Once I get the info, then we can run the route and check the map database.

    3. My oops on that one... the speed limits are in the main core map database update coming soon, at a competive cost.

    4. The weekly updates are usually POI's Global POI's, and construction. A future version of the TND Dock will show what is available for download.

    5. The TND Dock has gone threw a few more updates than normal the past few weeks,,, should be .89 on the server. I can never keep track,, I am bouncing between 3 servers all the time..

    Thanks,
    Mark

Is there a way or an interface to make the TND look for map updates? Or is it like every 10 times you hook it up to the computer it will check for maps? Ibelieve my problem is that only some of the maps were downloaded thereby causing the illegal operation messages. I found a free wifi place to download the 2.4 gigabytes of maps, said about 189 minutes so I took a nap and when I woke up to check it, the software screen was closed so I figured hmm maybe it's done already and turned the unit on and it's been a paperweight since. Long story short, I don't know how to bring it back to check for maps so I can try again...

Will say that when I hook to computer the software shows up and connected, can do things like update, backup and restore but unit still will not run.

Wish I could help with the maps. Maybe you can back up your address book with a backup, clear the memory in the unit, upgrade maps and all else and then restore your addresses and notes. Nothing short of brain surgery.

I still can't find the field in the logs menu or any other menu to to set them to manual

So the TND Dock wanting to update almost every week is normal as they are making changes ... Is this correct ?

When you get an update for a new TND Dock version, yes that was changed or modified.

When you get update requests during the week that is for POI's, Global POI's, and construction updates.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Just received my new/replacement TND 700. So Far so good, its plugged into 'puter & charging & says connected. It did a brief update & I then restored it from my backup from the old unit.....hope it works as a lot of my stops are in the middle of nowhere with no actual address, so it would be kind of hard to manually reenter without actually going there. If it doesn't, no biggie as a lot them will have moved to a new spot in the middle of nowhere. Anyway, once again thanks for the help & I'll let you know how it goes.
