That is one run John. How many others are we just scraping by on? My point is that with the repair problems you have previously noted through out the fleet, come repair bills. Put them together with the higher fuel bills and I start to see why profits from your runs are balancing out losses in several areas.
As for the truck... I would guess it is still less expensive to operate than the last two crops of lemon trucks and Florida will still let it roll there. Tom is unhappy in his loner (newer truck)... Would he trade you?
I figured you had already asked the powers that be for a raise...So I really was making an honest suggestion about the 62. Raise the profit on the run and negotiate to keep that money.
I agree with you that the cream of the Calex driver crop should be able to get raises for all the reasons you point out. I just see the fuel/repair bills going up and the HoS changes coming in June as solid reasons for the denial. If the lemon problem gets better and the HoS change does not torpedo the number of loads Calex completes a week; then push for profit sharing.
You are much better able to judge than I am...I know it is early yet; but, are the shop changes working?

JohnBoy isn't Calex somehow associated with a truck dealerdhip and if so there should be no lemon problem.

As to the part about lemon problems, dealerships are not wholly owned subsidiaries of the manufacturers for whom they sell vehicles. They are separately owned companies with and as a result there's a whole lotta politics involved in warranty issues between them and the manufacturers. Dealers don't like to do warranty work because they get screwed. (Something to do with a NASCAR pit crew doing an engine swap in an F-150 while Ford management stands by with a stopwatch.) So just because the company is closely affiliated with the dealership where the equipment comes from doesn't really change things as far as equipment failures is concerned.JohnBoy Thanks this. -

My wife and I are getting ready to fly to NY with her uncle that was in the hospital last week. He passed away last night and we will be leaving tomorrow. I'll be back Wednesday night. Be safe all, God Bless.

Hey John, I'm sorry for your loss, and in sorry what's happening with your work situation. I was thinking Calex had I ever jumped ship, and I'm glad I listened to my intuition and stuck with Lessors. They just have me a .02 raise to keep me because I was ready to go elsewhere, not because they are bad, just my own reasons. Hey, give them a call, we have a yard in Florida, you certainly won't drive a 13 year old truck or a 12 year old trailer. They trade trucks every 3 years and trailers every 4, they'll probably start you out higher than .36 if you haggle a bit. APU's and inverters in every truck! Lol. I'm sorry its turned bad and I'm sorry for the loss of a family member. It sucks how you're a pretty good guy and that black cloud is on you. I hope it turns around for you, I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.
