glad hand lock is much a cleaner way to secure you trailer

 

a more true post i can't imagine.i rent a spot to drop my end dump and am currently using a pin lock out of necessity.own several actually but my fav is the one w/the yellow(now very greasy) tab hanging off it.most any t/s carries some form of pin lock and they all seem to be comparable.i have compared too.ocd and can't help myself.

anyhoo,i now will begin the comparison search for a glad hand lock simply because i am tired of the grease on the pin lock and i wasn't even in the market until now-

 

A cresent wrench and a spare glad hand is all they need to steal your trailer with a glad hand lock. Might as well make them earn it if they want it that bad.

 

All you need to do is pull the king pin release and drag the trailer back. With a kingpin lock you need to break something to get it off. With a glad hand lock you just need to replace the airline. None are 100%. I'd recommend GPS. Or atleast a sticker that says it has GPS

Well you would need a torch or a key to get it off... GPS is too expensive and with a glad handle lock you could just release brakes and drive off to a secure location to get it off...

The $20 truck stop kin pin locks can be beat with a hammer.....

True that, that if someone wants your rig bad enough - they will likely get it.
But slow them down or make them think twice...All we can do with these products is buy time.

If you OWN the equipment - the cost of something like this shouldn't really be an issue.
One time charge! - I use it but put a Wal Mart bag over the kingpin prior to securing it.
This keeps the lock 99% grease free...

 

You can buy a king pin lock at most any truck stop for about $30. But get the steel one. Thats what I did.
