Do you have another on your head?
HotH2o Thanks this. -
Only thing I saw in the video was a super trucker following way too close.

The fuel practically cuts off going down hill, it's some programing to save fuel. You don't need to accelerate, your going downhill, that would be inefficient...
The problem is really bad when there is a hill right after the next with no flat ground between. It takes a while for it to figure out your not going downhill anymore. And I think it's compounded by some other problem with Prime trucks, might be the Qualcomm having bad ground or wiring issue messing up the electronics. There is a lot of lag in the cruise and throttle. If you leave it to do its thing on hills like this you will have to downshift by the time it figues it out. Next thing you know your doing 45 and feel like a clown because you know the people behind you weren't expecting it either. I think something that unexpected should be a safety issue.
Listen to how ratty and loud Prime trucks sound in the truck stop compared to others, something's wrong. I can't get much help finding the problem because they run "good enough" and aren't breaking down.
Eastern Iowa has to be the worst, most frequent, place for this to happen. Beware.scottied67 Thanks this. -
Just a suggestion. Next time you get stuck behind someone like that back off a long ways. Then, instead of doing a stupid turtle pass while trying to get some speed back up you will have room to pick up some mph before jumping in the hammer lane. smh
Dye Guardian and David_Simpson Thank this. -
you see @scottied67 , we are simply pointing out, your flaws, that pick YOU out about others. sorta like the pot calling the kettle black, isn't it?
we ALL KNOW the idiotic 4 wheelers, we ALL KNOW the idiotic truck drivers, many of us have been out here, perhaps longer than you have been alive.
so when YOU NIT PIC on some hap-hazard driving from a steering wheel holder, you actually only berate/belittle yourself. you may be impressing the you-tube audience of idiotic people that follow you as they are ALL excited about seeing such happenings on the road, and as a result, hate us even more, but to the rest of us, frankly, you just ain't no better then you want the you-tube audience to think you are.
if no one ever told you this, well by golly, it was about time, wasn't it..??????????????
you would be better served to save your videos, and maybe someday, become a CDL driving school instructor, and impress all the greenhorn students of others follies.Last edited: Sep 12, 2016

To be fair it could have been a mechanical issue. The International Prostar we drove at the school had an exhaust sensor that loved to randomly spaz out. Wasn't towards the end of the 7 weeks of driving it liked to act up more and more. Had a hard time keeping up with the flow of traffic on I-80 a time or two. Pretty much had to stand on the gas to get 55- 60 going downhill. Sometimes it would only act up for a few min, longest was a 45 min period when we were driving back roads.

Sounds like a few truckers circling the wagons against a whistleblower/snitch scottie. "Come on scottie, the public hates us already please stop exposing us truckers as highway terroists."Last edited: Sep 12, 2016
