Get some shims used for installing doors and windows, 2×4s and plywood. If you can, dump your airbags. Build a frame with plywood on top ( an upside down box) that is high enough to barely slide under the APU. Drive the shims under the APU to fill any gaps. Unbolt it and slide the whole thing, platform and APU, out away from the truck.

To install it on the new truck, slide it into place, dump airbags and bolt it on. Raise airbags, slide platform out, sit on it and admire your work with the help of multiple beers.

Edit to add: You can get precut 2'x2' plywood in the home stores. Also get a a piece 2'x4' as thin as they have it. Grease it liberally and put your platform on that. It'll make sliding the platform easier.

They told me 15 days to get to Louisville to have my truck inspected.

So your new truck is the same color as mine, copycat. Lol.

You could use an engine hoist to support it. Did you just decide to swap it yourself?

@TruckerPete1990 get one of these buckets. I got my at a TA for $8. When draining the oil from your APU it will only fill it 3/4 full. I had an empty antifreeze jug that I poured the used oil into through a funnel. My Dynasys holds 3 quarts of oil. So next time I'll use the last quart in my gallon jug and that will give me an empty to dump the used oil into. No mess at all. 20180730_170808.jpg

Mine didn't come with that. Has a hole underneath where you stick a socket with an extension on it up to unscrew the bolt off then place a bucket underneath as the oil goes through the hole in the bottom of the APU case.

No. I will get one though. I put one on my Freightliner's oil pan. Very nice!

I also have to take the top half of the cove off to add oil. Bad design. Could've easily put a trap door there. Wasn't that big of a deal though. 12 bolts Ave it was off. About 3 minutes. I will be installing a trap door myself after the warranty is up or before if it won't effect the warranty.
