I’ve been recently looking at possibly leasing a truck with swift transportation. With Swift’s settlement just underway it kind of leaves the question of what’s to come or change? I called the owner operator recruitment line and tried to get some answers and plain out said,”I know things are fixing to change with the settlement being finalized and all”, the recruiter acted like she had no idea what I was talking about. “What settlement?”. I continued my search for answers through email about such things like, fuel surcharge, load selections, pay and other general questions. Instead of replying with a list of answers I got a reply saying to call her when I had a chance. I try to call and she doesn’t even answer. All that being said I think it’s safe to say swift is still shady at best and right now might not be the time to go through them. Still looking to venture into the owner op world without actually looking to buy a truck I’m left wondering what other options might be available? All info I can find about leasing is it all depends on the person whether or not it works out but how can you tell? I’m somebody that runs 3,000-3,500 miles a week if they’re available, run 3 or more months at a time. No wife or kids, low personal expenses. Just focusing on building a bankroll for awhile. Is that gonna put me in the same realm as those who make these leases work?

Wonder what became of that sexual harrassment lawsuit.

Wasn't it swift that a female student was sueing?

That kind of mileage sounds great, but your over your lease mileage for Swift at 3,000 miles a week. It works my husband likes the freedom, but it isn't a constant on the move money maker. esp if they charge you for every mile over 11,000 a month (no it isn't cumulative that would be to fair) He likes working really hard taking a couple of weeks off, you just have to plan it right and have money to make your payments and pay your self on your not driving weeks.

Dude bad idea , save up ur money to where u can buy ur own truck. Lease purchase is a very very very very very bad idea with a good company , let alone with swift... Do not rush into the owner op game , u will have a very hard time succeeding if u don't have much capital

I would love to see some actual numbers. Pains me to say the Swift leasees I run into at the fuel isles and whatnot are LIARS. Some give high numbers, some low. Short of making a special trip to SLC, I just want the real numbers.. too much to ask?

What’s the point in getting into a company lease? I haven’t had anybody tell me why they do it. God knows it ain’t the money.
