What nickel and dime charges are you referring to? They don't charge back for anything that every other carrier doesn't.

Explain why you HAVE to run their license plates. Not all carriers require you to carry occupational insurance etc.
Also, theres plenty of other carriers that dont charge you weekly for plates, insurance, other accessory charges. They let you run your own if you choose to. FactDolemite Thanks this. -
From what I have seen landstar's freight hasn't really dropped off... And frankly I have seen Mercer's agents brokering loads out without ever posting them on the internal board 1st...JonJon78 and Snake Farmer Thank this.

I've got some friends at Landstar and they seem to have way more optionsdrvrtech77 and JonJon78 Thank this.

Yeah I have A buddy of mine over there and he seems to be doing quite well and I know several other people Doing the sameSnake Farmer Thanks this.

You don't have to run their plate. You can run your own but then you have to deal with your ifta. But either way you have to pay for a plate so how is that being nickled and dimed?
Guys want to be an O/O and then complain they have to pay to run the truck. Makes no sense to me.Rickp, roshea and Big John Classic HQ Thank this. -
Serious question, then why are you still at Mercer? Go to Landstar.Rickp, BoostedTeg, roshea and 2 others Thank this.
-
I've seen this to. Lots of shady stuff that goes on with Mercer and its freight agents that certainly do not benefit the trucks leased on to them...
Of course all the Mercer cheerleaders in this thread will say I'm a liar.4mer trucker, PoleCrusher, Dolemite and 2 others Thank this. -
Who says I'm still there?
-
Actually, you're wrong. You do have to run their plate. They let you run you're own until it expires if you came there with one, then you have to run theres.
Some folks like to run their own ifta, kyu, plates etc. They dont like being babysat with weekly deductions. You want to take a month or 3 off, then when you come back you have a whole pile of deductions waiting that they zap outta the first settlements to get caught up. Not everyone likes that.Dolemite Thanks this.
