I know this is an old post but I just searched "wheel covers" to see if anyone made a thread about them. I wanted to state my OPINION and say that these things can make the world's nicest truck look like a complete pile of junk. If manufacturers wanted the wheels covered to increase fuel economy, they wouldn't put holes in the rims in the first place. I'd rather have brakes that can breathe as opposed to a .1% increase in fuel economy
Aerodynamic wheel covers....

I've had wheel covers on my truck for 8 years.... number of times my brakes got hot = zero.... and for your information your brakes are cooled by air blowing in from the backside not from what little can get thru the holes in the wheelPE_T Thanks this.

No. Everyone knows you got to glue the penny to the outside of your tank so it can absorb the energy from the sun and transfer it by osmosis to the fuel.
-
Certainly not sticking up for wheel covers, but the holes in rims are there for weight savings, not air circulation.
-
I'll put those covers on as soon as I vote for Bernie.
-
The two reasons for holes in wheels are weight reduction and air circulation
-
If the air circulation was required alcoa wouldn't make rim's with no holes.PE_T Thanks this.
-
I wasn't aware they made those. My bad.
-
I didn't know about them till I was shopping for new wheels a year ago. And they do have two small holes for the valve stem to pass through, so technically not "no holes".PE_T Thanks this.

Not saying I don't believe you but I can't find them anywhere, I'd just like to see what they look like. Could you post a link?
