OK, didn't know Dynasty has a school in Missouri. That works out good for you.

Are you a military vet? If so, check with www.usaa.com for health insurance for the wife.

With the ACA it is $1350 now plus $7500 out of pocket. Then there are still the specialty copays for all her cancer appointments. Last year for taxes I added up just under 28grand. Life is not cheep especially when one gets older.

Your age will not be a factor with pretty much any company you choose to drive for. I am driving for FFE (Frozen Food Express).

I have been with them for 2 years. And I was actually going to start dropping some resumes to some other companies, looking at getting into some specialized driving. But now that this virus nonsense is going on, I think I am going to hang out longer.

Reefers are known well for constant, steady freight regardless of what the market is doing. People will always need to eat and they will always donate plasma. Actually, since people get paid to donate for the company we contact with, work will probably pick up and increase as market tanks.

If your low income and meet the states low income requirements, Missouri will pay 100% of your CDL with no repayment required. I know several people in Springfield Mo that went through the program. One of the schools on their approved list is across the street from the Hoods truck stop on I44 exit 61. You can call the workforce or unemployment office.

I just looked back and saw this comment. I know several people that went through that Schools program Free because they income qualified. I don’t know if you meet those guidelines but if you do you can choose whatever Company you want to go to work for and not be obligated to anyone

My income and year discharged from Navy makes me not eligible for any grant or free education programs. Right now the money is not an issue if I can make the money driving. Basically it is one months pay once driving solo on my own. My main problem is we drained our savings and are not old enough to be in this financial position. Too many things can go wrong.

SW Missouri? There are jobs in NW Arkansas. You can probably get $15 an hour there but not much more. Probably not a fun commute. Traffic isn't bad overall but there's a rush hour for sure.. Do you like to work nights?
