    That being said, shutting down rest areas is colossally stupid when there are supplies that need shipped

    Not to mention that if we’re supposed to keep things as sanitary as possible, how is closing down rest areas going to help with that?

    RoadRooster and Ultratowel Thank this.

    Yeah. It defeats its own purpose...even if there weren't rest area staff cleaning the restrooms they'd still remain more sanitary than porta potties. But I think that's actually more the reason why their closing them because they can't employ their staff to be there during this time.

    "A new study from
    @NIAIDNews
    suggests that #COVID19 can survive for 3h in the air, 4h on copper and 3 days on plastic & stainless steel."
    Staff at truck stops clean showers after each customer (well, they're supposed to). Nobody at rest areas to follow people around with clorox.
    Delivered to a dc in Reno and they're treating all visitors (mostly drivers) like typhoid mary.
    Can't blame them.

    Pooping on the side of the highway seems suboptimal

    Congratulations Rooster!

    I wish you all the best in your next venture in life. I retired 8 years ago after 42 years behind the wheel and sometimes miss it but not much.

    I enjoy RVing with my wife too much to go back. I just might get the opportunity to meet you someday as we winter in the Sebring area.

    Good luck and don't be a stranger. Also take care in these trying times of Corona.

    RoadRooster and Cerberus XVI Thank this.
