Its time for me to replace batteries on my kw . They never gave me any issue when i was driving the truck since July 2018 to jan 2020 , truck was sitting for 2 months now i noticed that either something draining them or they are not good anymore . I removed them and brought to local autoparts store , they diagnosed that 3 out of 4 need replacement and dont take a charge anymore. I did started truck about 2 weeks ago after charging it with my pick up truck for 20min , drove truck maybe 30mi and parked it back , 4 days ago could not start for same reason and decided not to use my pick up and remove and check them . Removed batteries are interstate brand and have markings of production dates from 16 and 17 . Just wanna hear suggestions for good brands to replace , truck has webasto bunk heater and small dometic fridge .. probably will use truck part time for 3-4 days a week . Dont want to buy OPTIMA or like brand , just something affordable and reliable . Just wanna hear opinions before heading to dealers tomorrow and hear their special promotion deals !

Must be alliance, that’s a great price. They’ve served Me just as well as any. I’ve bought Napa (Interstate I believe) Deka, and Penn ? Something. All good. Pete dealer had best price by Me, last summer. Still $90, also must have core or pay deposit. That’s something new. I had to go back, buy batteries back from scrap yard, I had aready taken in, along with a few more I had sitting around. Lol, net difference was $75, worth the trip back to scrap yard. Lol. Seems core deposits are the new norm.

They’ve had a core charge around here as long as I can remember. I had exide and they were junk. One started leaking within 60 days, and they replaced all three. Those lasted about 6 months and I had enough.

4 years is about average life for a battery. Myself, I've had very good luck with GM AC Delco batteries.

Go lower CCA - rather 950 than 1100,

Lead plates spaced further apart, less chance of warp and shortage.

Get Volvo branded batteries at a Volvo dealership, should be $80-85, call ahead first, because not all Volvo dealers carry them.
Also Bulldog batteries sold at Mack dealerships and Freightliner batteries are good, but last time I checked both were at $115 or so
