The shifting is not noticable. The act of shifting that is. Unless the tractor stung me with a wrong gear by happanstance. In other words, engine wants another gear up or down, I make a mental note of it and it gets that gear. The physical act of shifting is not something I worry about. It just gets done.
Regarding the fear, you need to get over that. Grow a pair and hop into the saddle. Or go home and downgrade to a car license and put that out of your mind.
Nothing is forever in trucking. It has a beginning and a end. And fear is part of that experience. Its good for you when applied correctly. I don't drive or worry about the vehicle. it simply becomes part of me. I decide to go there and it goes.LtlAnonymous, buddyd157, JolliRoger and 1 other person Thank this. -

If you are still shifting you either own your own truck, run heavy haul, or are left in the stone ages the entire industry is just about automatic.
