My last truck out of memphis did 69. I ask the safty mng about this and how to log it sense I was told by ID Falls to log 64. He said not to worry about it and log at 66. So I did.

rustynail here i left knight charlotte division after 3 months .at 1st i ran good 3000a wk but my last run it took 5days to make 150.00dollars if u go 2 fl. be prepared 2 sit alot. and the d.m will not give u your lay over pay. i had 2 get my cab card i was n raliegh sittin 24hrs. i told safety to fax me a copy he never did. i get dispatched at 2:eek:opm to get a load that was supposed 2b picked up between 7::00am/2:00pm to go 2 n.y. del. at 7:00am. it took 30min.2 get their 1hr. 2 load.d.m. tells me over phone 2 tcall it 2 charlotte so i can get cabcard. i did what he said the next morning the div.manager tried 2 fire me 4 doing what i was told 2 do. i explained what happened and he still had a bad attitude so i said look im calling phoneix about this and the no layover pay and the fact that when i refused 2 keep working over 14hrsaday and working over 70hr awk because d.m allways dispatches me so late that i have 2 go over 14,and when i refused to keep doing it i start sitting 4 days. anyhow phoneix never returned my calls.these companies want us 2b perfect on d.a.c./drvr rec. work history etc. but they think they can do us any way they want to. its hard 2b a profesional when u work with amateur con men. well thais driver dont put up with it. and frankly all you drivers that do are fools. its taken me 5wks 2 find a local drivers job but i did 13.00hr. with overtime home every nite wk ends off. drivers please quit letting these big trucking companies walk all over you only we can stop it lifes to short . god speed and keep the greasy side down and the shinny side up. yours truly rusty nail

Well this fool here reminds you that you shouldn't just jump into a truck WITHOUT CHECKING THE DANG PERMIT BOOK ! Too many people need their hand held and then blame everyone else for their woes.

Uh, you do know that this year Knight didn't have half the junk ready for the permit books until 7 days or less before they expired. Even the insurance cards where not ready!

I can get by a terminal any week why can't you ? This guy was probably ignored because his cab card was a year over due. Well DUH ! It's the drivers responsibility to keep up with permits. I can see now why I had to go into the safety office in Phoenix and get a lil sheet of paper signed by the safety guy saying my permits were up to date so I could get a PM. You either run well or sit around, it really is pretty much your choice here or at any other company.

When I first started driving I went out with a "trainer" for a month. Looking back on the situation now, I'll bet that "trainer" hadn't been driving very long himself.

Long story short, when they cut me loose in my own truck, I drove around without a permit book for almost a month until I had to go through the POE in Wyoming. I went inside and they wanted to see my bingo stamp... "Uh, what's that?", I replied.

LMAO... the DOT man about crapped a gold nugget when he found out I had no permit book whatsoever. Needless to say, I spent a good deal of time getting documents faxed to the POE from our Salt Lake City terminal. (and no... it wasn't CR England or Skunk, Inc.)

Yea that would be a "communication error" in training. I hope you explained why that happened. I'd say you probably did that is why they faxed you all you needed. But some people in this industry are nothing short of train wrecks.

Very rarely do I get to one, even rarer if the people are in it working, and almost unheard of that anyone has a clue! How do you get by them some much anyway? Short runs or something?

Uh yea, short runs. That's how I keep my permit book updated.
