Hello, I didn't see anything about this when I was searching Google. So I figured I'd ask. I just started otr, and have been out for 3 weeks. I run a reefer, and at night I have that and my apu going.. i had no trouble getting used to the noise, however the silence is deafening now that I'm home.. it's a weird feeling in my ears. Anyway, I'm just looking for suggestions on alleviating this little problem.. maybe a fan or something of that nature.. or just knowing that I'm not the only one experiencing this would help.. thanks

    Smut Thanks this.

I had the same problem when I started. A fan, A/C, or any other background noise helps. If that doesn’t work a melatonin might help.

A fan has always done it here. Besides, who doesn't sleep better when it's a little cooler?

I'm a long time reefer driver.
I take a 10 mg. melatonin within an hour of bedtime.
Sometimes I listen to music to relax me while the melatonin is taking effect.
This one works for me; maybe not for you, but does work for me. This YouTube video has dim lighting and is of traffic, late at night, crossing a bridge in Kiev, Ukraine.

A few toots off the whiskey bottle ought to do er.

I totally understand though. I pulled a dry load last week and slept at the customer. Didn’t have my apu running since the temp was just about perfect for sleeping. It was too quiet and I ended up turning on the bunk fans before I went to sleep.
