Like others said, you cant go wrong with this engine.
I purchased mine in '08 with 1.3mm and now has 1.9mm with only rods & mains, 1 set of injectors and 1 turbo-and the truck has never been on the back of a hook!

In my mind the n-14 red top motor is one of cumminis best Motors. Basic inframe is around 10,000. Your going to spend almost 10,000 on parts for a basic on a newer ISX and more hours to do a ISX. 60 series 3 or 4 r good motors and 3406 cats as well

Another question the guy was saying it's a high rev engine so what would be a good area to keep the rpm for it's health

So were you working the truck when the turbo went bad?

I questioned the owner I bought the truck from about what should be done to it. . Money's no object , just don't want to be stranded on the side of road.

He said nothing as far as he knew

I asked about just replacing turbo as I have heard horror stories on here about turbos clogging air to airs and taking out motors

He said don't worry about it. One the turbos our top quality. 2 you will hear the turbo making a whole lot of noise before it goes to hell

I replaced 2 turbos on my yanmar marine diesel motors that I used to run on my parasail boats because you could hear a high pitch whine , but they were 3 feet from me .

I'm the kind of guy being mechanical since I was 12 , if it is making a different noise you have a problem and turn off the motor until you get to the bottom of the noise.

They had a problem throwing belts, when they first came out. Must have fixed that, since I never hear of it being a problem.
