How many small guys being put out of business ?

    When a 500 truck carrier goes BK it makes the news we all hear about it but how do we know how many little guys get screwed by this shutdown. Is there anyway to tell whats happening, I know of one indicator the insurance companies send out cancellation notices to additional insured like brokers and prime carriers so can anybody speak to this what are you seeing.

    Almost every owner op I know only has like 3-5k on hand during good times so I would guess many are living on credit cards by now.

    Between southern Oregon and northern California I know of six companies that have folded up in the last year and a half.
    They were small, to be sure, but they provided a good living for quite a few people. The biggest had ten trucks, the smallest had two. Some were obviously mis-managed but that happens in good times as well as bad.
    There's just no safety net during the bad times.

    Good catch not many people get were it from I wanted a name that sounded real, but I meet people IRL and they call me Arch I just roll with it
