What is east coast?

In 1982 l had enough of the east coast above the Mason Dixon Line. l didn't have the option to run in the southern states without going north. So, l promised myself to never cross the River in a semi again. Being retired now l can say l kept that promise to myself.

 

For me anything east of Mississippi River is what I consider east coast

 

Lmao I’m from jersey and I get what they mean. Personally I think 78 is worse since it drives right into the cesspools we call Newark.

 

Id consider from nyc down to delware as east coast. Then anything north of nyc is new england and anything south of delware is just called 'the south'.

 

As somebody who's lived in PA all their life, I'd have to say that 'east coast' mostly refers to the north east. Once you get into Virginia and to the north, the roads get less accommodating for modern semis because most cities and infrastructure is old. You have cities that were initially built back before vehicles were even invented. Yea, of course they've gone through many changes but only so much can be done without completely bulldozing and rebuilding entire cities. On top of that you have the Appalachian mountains in PA going south.

Below Virginia doesn't really count in my opinion because these areas aren't as old and aren't so bad. Florida and Georiga for example are no worse then any other midwestern state, even western NY is no worse then Ohio.

Then again, as I stated at the start of this post, I'm from PA. Thus my opinion may be skewed because it's what I've grown up with so am used to (as much as I hate it after seeing the rest of the country).

 

I was pulling for Dana-Suttles at the time. Dana was out of Avenel New Jersey. Glad someone in Joisy has a sense of humor!

 

The coops on 78 and 287......bring the big bottle of KY lube. NJ 31 isn't bad tho

 

This is just something for reference really for those who get confused different companies may consider different states different areas for them.
Side note anything east of Mississippi is east coast and anything west of Mississippi of west coast in general
