357 mag requires a different bolt to convert to other calibers.
Heavy gun for tiny 357.
Feel very safe shooting the 50.
Indestructible. -
I am a retired cop with a 50 state CCW. Not that it matters because there are more restrictions than allowed places to carry. After a lot of consideration I stopped Concealed Carry a while ago. Here is why.
If you shoot while a victim of a crime you must consider 2 things. Criminally was it a justified shoot? Were you or another in immediate danger of physical harm? Then there is civil. Here is why I do not carry. Civilly you are asked could you have walked away or avoided the confrontation? A retired cop in Commiefornia shot a rapist after a long fight and struggle he was losing. The rapist kept going after a minor raping her. When the court asked him they excluded moral questions and wanted to know was it physically possible to walk away.
You me and probably everyone here would say hell no, but the answer was yes he could have physically left the girl to be raped if he had no conscious. Therefore he was found guilty and paid dearly.
The public does not support concealed carry laws nor the rights we have to use guns in defense. Too many have spoiled it with bad shootings, and careless protection of their guns. When the president can pass a law allowing retired cops a 50 state CCW and a flower shop has the right to say not on my property along with every government building, park playground school and religious building, we are not supported. Since the public does not support it I do not carry it.
I can still defend myself quite well. I have a taser like the cops use that is legal in most places guns are not. I know how to fight with many common items legal to carry unlike our tire thumper sticks. I spent 23 years learning many techniques and ways to keep safe including how to walk away and talk someone down when needed. Carrying a gun is a costly risk. Many states have made it illegal to even have a gun safe inside a motor vehicle, thanks to the gangs and drug cartels.
I sold Taser products and still have a few left. They are hard to sell now as so many cheep Chinese knock offs are out there. I can play all day with most over the counter Tazers but Taser Branded will take out a linebacker without a problem. Trust me I know as I used mine hundreds of times. Knives are also good but again some states outlawed locking blades, blades longer than 4 inches, spring blades....... A good box cutter can do just as much damage and no one would think twice about a trucker with one in a sheath on his or her belt. If you know where to cut all you need is a half inch deep cut and three minutes later they are no threat to anyone.
Lastly is the burden of killing someone. Not many can do this and live a normal life again. It is not an easy choice to make and it is not one I made quickly. I was blessed to have never taken a life with 23 years service and as a Veteran. After long talks with my pastors I decided to always give the other person a choice so I could rest knowing they had a part in their own death. This paid off well for me. Seven times I had a white knuckle on my trigger finger with a suspect. Each one later told me they knew I was committed and would kill them if they made the wrong choice. They were right and we both were blessed those days. Before you carry are you willing to take a life? Will you practice enough top be competent? I ran 60,000 rounds through just my duty weapon in 23 years. I was and am the best shot I can possibly be. My partners and the crooks knew I took my gun very serious.
Now all joking aside, NEVER put the Booger Picker on the BANG BANG until you are ready to kill someone. There is no such thing as an accidental shooting.Scooter HBG, JolliRoger, MACK E-6 and 4 others Thank this. -

I thought you would be interested to know that some "pellet guns" are used to hunt 2000lb bison.

The big bore calibers are pricey to feed, plus I have other guns in .357 Mag.
