Trainers don't grow on trees ... Orientation was done days ago.

    4000-5000 Iu’s per day of vitamin D and this virus wont touch you. Remember, vitamin D is not actually a vitamin once your body processes it. It processes it into a hormone which is essential for your immune response. 98% of people who have died from this virus were vitamin D deficient. And no I don’t have a link but if you Google it I’m sure you can find the study done.

    Are you being compensated for your time? If not, I would be spending my days looking for a company that can get me started without delay.

    A decent company would not allow a newly hired driver to sit around, unpaid, for days or weeks.

    Ah the waiting game. This is when the company finds out the true "if you want the job". If you cant stand the wait for the trainer, then you cant stand the job.

    If you quit and pack up and leave, you will have to repeat the whole orientation process AND possibly be sitting at the new company waiting for a trainer. That would be a step back from where you are now.

    Just grab the lube apply generously to backside then tell yourself it’s going to be better soon ( insert a time frame that makes you feel good) after more time passes and you start noticing pain and pressure in your backside reapply lube as needed. Eventually you will hardly notice the pounding in your backside and start to believe it will get better if you wait long enough.

    As a former trainer let me say...

    If you’re a non-smoker don’t get on a training truck with a smoker. You’ll regret it.

    Just wait. @TripleSix is right, if you leave you’ll just have to repeat the process.

    Be patient. In trucking you’ll learn how little you matter and this is a good time to learn that. We wait for everyone, but if we’re late there’s hell to pay.

    Focus on the upside. Get a full year in and things will get better. Just relax.

    Also remember with most companies you have a limited amount of chances with the number of trainers. So after the 2nd trainer, maybe 3rd they’ll just send you home. Just do the work. Keep it professional and get in your own truck.

    Under normal circumstances I would agree. With all this Covid19 crap floating around, I would be more patient, not less.

    I was an ex-smoker when I got in my first trainer's truck. He was supposed to be a non smoker.

    He wasn't. However I will say that he never smoked inside his truck, only outside.

    That didn't change the fact that he reeked of tobacco. As an ex smoker for 5 or 6 years at the time, I was more than a little bit annoyed at him for lying.

    I did manage to avoid relapsing, but I might have gotten along with him better if he had not lied about being a non-smoker.

    I got through it though. Not sure what I would have done if he smoked in the truck. Probably would have jumped truck if the company wouldn't put me on a truck with a real non-smoker.

    I was a trainer for 6 years and there is something you need to know about training. It's a racket. It's how the megas made it through the last recession. 1) no there aren't a ton of trainers out there. 2) They are getting money from the government to train you so they are going to over hire trainees. Large supplies of trainees due to recession + low supply of trainers = you're going to get a lesson in waiting. Enjoy it. Youre getting paid to do nothing, It's only going to get worse from here especially with low freight volumes.
