I haven’t been to the Dallas area in awhile but when I have I coincidentally stayed a good half hour or more on the outskirts of town most times. I don’t remember all the places I’ve stayed as it’s some time. I have heard there are some rough stops in Dallas area so if anybody can name places to avoid. I’m looking to avoid lot lizards beggars/panhandlers and worse case scenario someone trying to rob me or physically assault me or truck break ins. Worst case scenarios haven’t happened thank god. Generally if I’m near a major city I like to stay on the outskirts. For instance Whenever I’ve been through Memphis I get a good half hour to an hour outside Memphis never a problem.

I’m based in a suburb on the east side of Dallas, but if I was traveling through I wouldn’t park/sleep at any of the ones off of I-20. Heck, I don’t even fuel at the Flying J at Exit 472, slightly preferring the Pilot at 470 (our company prefers that we use PFJ for fuel, and that’s where I have points).

“Dallas truckstops to avoid”
Every single one of them.RockinChair, Studebaker Hawk, stacks and 5 others Thank this. -
Where are you coming from? Denton to the north has couple of Love's and a TA. Weatherford to the west has several truck stops. Hillsboro to the South has a TA and a Petro. They all tend to fill up early. It's been awhile since I came from the east.
Upinsmoke Thanks this. -
I've personally never had a problem at any truck stop in Dallas. However, if you're going west past Dallas, try to get to Weatherford. There's decent options there
Upinsmoke Thanks this. -
Coming from the east on 20 there is one at the 527 and a TA at the 503. Coming down 75 there is a Loves and FlyingJ at Anna.
Upinsmoke and Swedish Chef Thank this. -
Truck stops IMO aren’t the biggest issue. It’s the 4 wheelers who all drive 102 mph and weave in and out of lanes thinking they’re in nascar. Coupled with zero fear and respect of big rigs. If that’s not enough, Dallas doesn’t know how to set up proper construction zones. You’ll literally be driving along, go around a corner and the lane just ends or head towards a concrete divider with ZERO warning.
Snailexpress, Upinsmoke and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
Depending on where you're coming from, if you're coming from the east, south, or north, I highly recommend the Texas Rose.
There's a loves maybe a mile north.
Otherwise, I can't reccomend anything in Dallasbryan21384, Upinsmoke and Swedish Chef Thank this.
