Oilfield spit me out after 14 years, leased on to what seems like a decent company in DFW area running local but the money is real low. Was told it used to pay ok but the virus has killed it. Do o stick around a while longer to see if it gets better or start looking to lease on doing something else? Wouldn’t mind running regional.

Shoot for the moon, you may hit the barn.
Aim for the barn, you’ll hit the outhouse.
Every, darned, time.Itsbrokeagain, AModelCat and Coffey Thank this. -
I'd sit tight, if you can. Once this foolishness is over, the ports are going to be inundated with freight. I bet there are ships dry docked FULL of containers, but can't be unloaded. Truth be known, as megas fail left and right, you just might be in a pretty good position. People going to want those Asian products.
Matt1924 Thanks this. -
It’s a tough deal. Nobody in the intermodal game is making money right now. I do have some apps out with a few places that are waiting on me to #### or get off the pot lol. I enjoy the intermodal work but the money is just terrible. How long you guys think it’ll be down?

Alright, just to update this I got a a few opportunities. My truck is older, but solid and passed Land Star pre lease inspection. So, I can hold out on this intermodal deal and hope it gets better or bounce. I got about 2 weeks to make a decision. For the last 2 months I haven’t seen over $1300 a week GROSS. Like I’m paying fuel, insurance, and taxes out of that. Not 100% sure if I’ll pull a flat or dry van for LS, surely I’ll be able to gross more than $1300 a week there?

How old the truck is?

Hang in there once the land bridge from Alaska to Russia complete you'll be able to go straight to China.

I've seen several analyst reports they expect intermodal to be slow 12 to 18 months. China is only now starting to get back up to speed, problem it, rest of the world is still lagging 6 months behind China, and some places even further behind.
