I did the old drive for four months take two weeks paid off at my house. Costs $20 to the hometown mechanic to lie to the company
They enjoyed the daily $56 storage fee for the trailer aswell. Lol
But yeah Schneider does the 14 on 7 day off thing slip seat you just gotta park your vehicle in their yard. Louisville has a tanker yard for example. -
How do you "manage" the mattress in that situation?
-
Febreeze, your own sheets and a mattress cover?spindrift Thanks this.

This is my plan. I am retired NYPD and have a penison and benefits and just want to drive sometimes.

I usually only drive in the summer then sneak off to mexico to fish and kayak all winter. If you are straight with your company and are an asset , they will be more than happy to let you do this.BIGOtrucking Thanks this.

That is awesome!! I will be straight with them - they will know I will be there for them when they are in a pinch - or even for planned absences of their drivers. They will save money in not having to pay me benefits too.

The company I work for out of PA will let you work whenever you want. If you wanna run for a week you can and if you don't wanna work at all you can do that too. Your truck will probably be used while you're off though, as a spare truck for local runs
-
That sound like the arrangement I am looking for! May I ask the name of the company you work for and where in PA?
Thanks! -
Freeport Transport Industries out of Freeport PA, about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh
BIGOtrucking Thanks this.
