On a different note, Hell will freeze over before I ever buy another GM product. Never in my life have seen more ignorant people than those who work at Chevrolet dealers.

I showed up at one today with a drum of car wash soap, which I dropped next to the detail bay. I went to the parts window, only to find some ###-hole who couldn’t be bothered to sign for it. Must have been illiterate...

That tool gestures to the nearby door, I assumed for me to walk in. I went to the other window and illiterate points across the hall.

Ok, so I went over there, only to hear the words “uh, I don’t sign for that. That goes to parts”....said apparently another illiterate retard.

“Great, the same ones that told me to come over here....”

At that point, I got pissed. If there was ever a way to get on my bad side in a big hurry, it’s to pull some funny #### like that.

I tore off their copy of the bill, left it on the drum, jumped in the truck and hauled ###. Micky Mouse signed for that one.

To me, that would be a sign to stay away from that dealer group, whether it be Chevy or any other brand. GM makes too many cars I like, so I could never avoid them completely.

Just some friendly P&D advice for any lurking rookies out there.

When you are ready to hook, you book. I made the rookie mistake of BS-sing with my buddy #52 after I was loaded out. Consequentially, those 8 or 9 minutes were enough for me to get flagged halfway out the door with the words "wait, we got more stuff to load".

More freight rarely translates into more hours and pay. It just means more crap to get done before people lock their doors at 5 PM. Subsequently, I relearned an old lesson the hard way. At least move your truck to make them think you have already left.

@road_runner Good advice taken! I’m going to be switching to city as soon as a spot opens up by me.

Find a long run if you can. The best ones are a long way to go to get to, but a tight area once you get there.

I wouldn't write off an entire brand because of specific dealer's staff, I would however write off that dealer network.

ETAL The QUIRK dealership family in New England will never get a dime from me for this reason, no matter what badge rides on my vehicle that I'm driving.

This is the area I run. Hour to hour and 15 mins away. Pretty close together.

now my old route was hour and a half away. Most of the stops in that small city. But then I had to cover all the woods and tiny towns even farther out. Twice a week we even stretched out farther to where the last stop was 2.5 hours away. Usually a 400 mile day. And a long day. I think I like the one I’m on more. I can usually knock out 15-20 stops and be clocked out in 8.5 hours.

    You just noticed that? :biggrin_25523:

I’ll run every weekend I can, but only for linehaul runs or anything in or near my route territory.

    I don’t like short runs, so I don’t like to work. :D :biggrin_25520:
