My Saia update

Well I hit two years with Saia, and overall I am pretty happy, my top scale pay kicked in and i am still holding down a bid right now with intentions of bidding the bid if and when the time comes, I ended up at .6850cpm/$27.20 hr for top scale, different locations may vary, but in the AZ that's where we sit at, the run is a meet with two vias, 2690 miles a week, and accumulates 7.50 hours in work time for drop and hooks each week, comes up to a gross of $2046 a week and a net of $1507 , home every day, only real issue is the hours are long due to loading delay at via terminal, if that can ever get fixed the run will be perfect.

 

One thing to keep in mind though, yes your company seniority will always follow you on transfers that is true, BUT if you transfer and do a department transfer at the same time you will go to the bottom and have to work your way up from there, example let's say you are p&d and transfer to another terminal into p&d, you will go to the bottom when you start there, but next rebid your company seniority will dictate your board seniority, now if you are p&d and transfer to another terminal to take a linehaul position then you go to the bottom of the board and start there, and then work your way up the board from there, best thing to do if that is your plan, is to do your department transfer from p&d to linehaul as soon as possible at this terminal you are hiring on to, just food for thought.

 

It's supposed to be once every year, I think the month of rebid varys terminal to terminal though.

 

Ok this is really what's really going on, all the trucks that had the original foward facing only cameras which was 2012 models and older are retired or on there way out to retirement, from 2013 to 2018 models, all those models had what I call the Drivecam cameras installed in them, and all trucks have them not just linehaul only, mainly because p&d uses linehaul trucks so they do have a camera on them, the only exception are team trucks, they have the exact same camera, but the DFC lens is capped and only films foward only, this is for privacy purposes, there is a good portion of couples that run team here, the drivecams are the more sensitive cameras, they will go off when hitting bumps or even hooking to trailers, those are the cameras that bust the most employees, in 2019 and newer models, the new LYTX camera was installed and while they can be triggered it takes alot to do so, so they rarely record.
