Motor was running fine, then shut off. I reset the breaker and it had lost prime,so I prime it and get it running. It was running rough and wouldn’t clear up, and when I tried to bump the RPMs it had no throttle response and would die when I let off.
I pulled the shut off solenoid and the idle came back to where it should be, but it had a fair bit of oil coming out.
@reeferwrencher what are your thoughts on this? I replaced the solenoid 6-8 months ago because of a hard start. The back side of that solenoid was blown out where the wires go in.

Those fuel solenoids are a frequent failure on all tk units that have them. The oil is normal to come out when the solenoid is removed and run the engine.Where did you buy the solenoid from ,it might still be warranty

I’ll have to check and see what the date was. I have no idea how long the other one was on here. I’ve had the truck for 4.5 years and it is nearing 28k hours on the apu.
I know a lot of people hate them, but I sure do love mine.

Yeah, good when they work. Most people never take the cover off and wash them. It can save you a lot of grief if your running on the salted roads in winter.

@reeferwrencher not sure if this is the same problem or new. It acts like it’s running out of fuel after a couple hours. I pulled the solenoid but it makes no difference this time. Can the lift pump restrict fuel? It starts surging just before it dies.

Yeah,it might not be working even though you can hear it clicking.also as the other guy said there is a fuel inlet filter inline with the pump if they aren't changed on service they will plug up.If you remove the outlet line from the pump and energize it there should be steady stream of fuel coming out,if not then I would change the filter first and try it again.
