Oh - yes. Yes, it can.

    “Next exit 18 miles” . . .

Right when that bad burrito decides it’s time to vacate your bowels.

    Comes with the job.

Then again, I could feel lonely and depressed in the middle of a raging good riot.

    Chin up.

It's really what you make of it. For me the frequent time away from home and family isn't a big deal bc I was in the military before I got my CDL. I'm rather introverted as well and I don't particularly like being in big crowds and I don't have many I consider friends so the isolation isn't a big deal to me either. After the military I wanted a job where I didn't have somebody looking over my shoulder and breathing down my neck anymore either. Trucking is just that.

As long as you do your job, show up on time, and run your hours out you won't be bothered by anybody from your company. I hear from my dispatcher once every few days and that's just to BS around with him. He knows when he gives me a load, it'll be where it needs to be when it needs to be there.

There are many people who get into this industry who think they're going to love it and they find out that trucking isn't for them. There's nothing wrong with that. It happens.

But as others have said, its not rainbows and sunshine out on the road.

Same here. Almost 10 years of Taxi/Uber. I have no patience for bosses left in me. I think I will be fine. Time to see our vast beautiful America. Utah, I am coming!!!!!!!!

That’s the correct attitude to have to do well out here.

The rewards outweigh the inconveniences - to me at least.

It's relaxation interspersed with periods of frustration for me.

I don't get lonely. Few jobs more enjoyable than cruise set, tunes jamming and wide open road ahead of you.
