I hate to see anyone lose a job. But in this case I have no issues if this takes effect. I’ve seen too much crazy #### on the road from drivers and being 100 percent sober and clean is a good thing.
I do think it would be best to give a few months warning though.Last edited: Jul 17, 2020
alds, HoneyBadger67, Blue Zombie Trucker and 11 others Thank this. -
I got everything I needed to get out of my system by the time I was 18. Got into college, and sober as a judge ever since.
But hey, if those 300k drivers lose their jobs, that will drive up pay for the rest of us, right?
Just like the driver shortage drove up pay.
Sarcasm sure is fun.Brettj3876, Blue Zombie Trucker, Dale thompson and 10 others Thank this. -
There needs to be a format for news headlines
bzinger, truckdriver31 and Upinsmoke Thank this. -
All these companies will need to pump out 150 drivers a week..instead of 75..

No sure I would believe those numbers. It says it's from test back in 1998. That's a long time ago before ELDs. You can't run a truck today like you could back then.
Canadianhauler21, alds, bzinger and 4 others Thank this. -
Be careful what you ask for.
The only reason mega's can fill their
Classrooms everyweek is because the
Hair testing is not mandatory.
Good luck finding anybody who hasn't done
Any type of drugs for 8 years to come drive
Your trucks.
Not one person is going to stop doing whatever
Their drug is, for 5 years, just so they can be a
Truck driver.Canadianhauler21, alds, Gearjammin' Penguin and 4 others Thank this. -
This means two things, as the Judge sees it.
1.) A chance to get rid of the bad apples driving in high range across the parking lot.
2.) A raise for the rest. May not see it much at first, but that’ll mean, at least, more freight for the rest of us.
But since the fmcsa wants it, are they going to pay?
You should know the answer for that.
But, that means we’ll get to charge an extra .10-.25 cents a mile per load!!
We’ll pass this cost on to the consumer.
Yes!! Good plan, we'll make this like our own Tax!
