That’s awesome, it’s a small world. I live in Cicero and was on the 4x4 schedule. It was a nice balance. After a while though the loads were getting brutal, some places it took me 10 hours to break down pallets and arrange the 1000s of cases how the receiver wanted them. I’m pretty in shape and young too. You could have 400 different items and 5000 cases on 1 trailer. It wasn’t everyday but it was frequent. It honestly sucked. I don’t regret it though, the places we went to made me a good driver, NYC, Boston and throughout the northeast. Dot is a good company.

I don't typically have much to complain about, but I gotta admit I HATE going to the Milwaukee brewery. NASTY attitudes up in there. Every time I've been. Whenever I leave that joint I'm left wondering what the hell is wrong with those clowns.

If any of y'all have had thoughts to check out the new Indian restaurant that's in the 101 Travel Plaza in Tennessee, don't bother. Worst Indian food I've ever had. Bleh.

    MIT Thanks this.

Really? I've not had any problems with any of them except for one spotter quite awhile back. I'd delivered glass over on State Street and there were no empties over there. So I went over to 69 yard per dispatch and was going to o get one from there. None there either so security gave me a trailer number for one over at the brewery. As I was looking up to it the spotter came over and says "You can't have that trailer." I try to explain that security had given it to me and he got pretty snotty with me. I think dispatch ended up having me BT up to Richfield for a load.

Other than that, I've not had any problems.

I live in Auburn. I talked with a DOT driver at an Ohio food warehouse once but not long because he was on his way in to lump his load. He was in 4/4 too. Said he made most of his money by doing the lumper work.

Another thing was I have rarely been to a food warehouse that wasn't a total tight cluster $*#/ with lots of off hours delivery times. A friend of mine does reefer and he always has middle of the night pick ups or deliveries. I'm assuming you had to go to them for back hauls.

Yes I knew they had them too. No longer interested in working there. Do not want anything to do with food warehouses now that I have learned what they are all about from my occasional load to one with Millis and what I have heard from my friend.

Reefer work is definitely tough on steady sleep times. Constantly rotating nights and days is tough. I admit there was plenty of times I was so worn out I shouldn’t have been driving.
