you got another thread that says you were fired for 3 days idling while laid over but, now your saying you were fired for idling your engine too much during the summer. which one is it?

Besides that who wants to work for a company that fires them for idling during a major heat index. I would never treat a driver that way and I wouldn't want to be treated that way either.

Can't believe people line up to work for #### companies like that.

Had to be super high idle. I once got called for having an idle of 55%. Driver manager said not to worry, just that she was required to inform us. Also, at that idle I wasn't even in the top 10 on her board.

I'm sure he left out half of the story as to why he was shown the door, they always do when they come on here crying. :biggrin_2553:

    Funny stuff..
Our air went out in the drivers room last month and after a week of 90s plant technicians looked at it and finally called in a service company.
Now if the office doesn't have air and temp rises 5 degrees they are all over the phones trying to find service.
Some of these idle restrictions seem far fetched but mine would be 50 to 70, otherwise op feel fortunate and move on.

    Matt1924 and Lonesome Thank this.

They seriously fire drivers for idling? WTF? Their trucks still don’t come with APUs right? Either you get me an apu, or a motel everyday with transportation, or I idle.

Swift wants you to go inside the truck stop and sit in the drivers lounge and be cool there, instead of idling the truck all day in the back row. Then at night, temps are cool outside and you need not idle much, right ?

Lonesome and Wasted Thyme Thank this.

Don't lose any sleep over it OP. They did you a favor!

p.s. I'm just going to put this out there without regard to who gets offended. Anyone that actually abides by these idiotic idling policies has the brain power of a gnat. I promise you the office staff doesn't turn the A/C off when the temps outside reach a certain parameter.

Just curious, Frank, does the warm air bother you when you're hanging upside down, unlaxing?
