Santitas tortilla chips and Denny's turned me fat there for abit.
Avoid those. That Mexican lady may look cute but she's an evil witch.
(Preferred white corn btw)
Ate them with a bowl of refried beans 50% of the week. Was the go-to meal. Occasionally chopped onion. -

Green Tea and try intermittent fasting or two 24 hour fasts a week

Remember when eggs were bad? No research whatsoever to support that.
remember when carbohydrates were supposed to be the corner stone of your diet? You guessed it, politics and opinion, no research.
What we now know is that there are no essential carbohydrates, with the exception of fiber. We need those in good quantity.
What we now know is that all those carbs should be replaced by fat, but the right kinds, not deep fat fryer fat. Olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil or grass fed butter.
what we now know is. That carbs are the devil. They create problems that in a long chain of events end up in weight gain and diabetes.
Low carb is the answer. I don’t go as far as Keto, but all the low carb diets work. South beach, paleo, Atkins, Wahl, they all do the same thing. Substitute fat for carbs.
Be careful not to increase your animal protein too much. The only animal protein you can eat without a longevity penalty are eggs and fish. Plus, protein puts more demand on the kidneys.
on the truck?
no pasta, bread, rice, potatoes. Costco has big bags of walnuts and good sized cans of sardines, and I love their frozen blueberries, and cheese. Gouda, tillamook extra sharp cheddar, Manchego.
full fat Greek yoghurt ( with the berries), and eggs for breakfast. Sardines, a few pieces of cheese and two or three handfuls of walnuts for lunch. Dinner whatever comes to mind. By far the hardest meal on the truck, but should include LOTS of veggies and some form of high fat protein.sirhwy, Farmerbob1 and Dockbumper Thank this. -
I lost 70 pounds intermittent fasting in 4 months no question about it working. Its simply great for truck drivers. Or like I said just do two 24 hour fasts a week
Dockbumper Thanks this. -
sirhwy, Accidental Trucker, Farmerbob1 and 1 other person Thank this.

One point of anecdotal evidence though. I suspect rice is somehow less likely to make you fat than other grains. No clue why, but I have, at times, eaten a great deal of rice without gaining weight, but whenever I eat a lot of wheat or oats, I almost always gain.sirhwy, Accidental Trucker and akfisher Thank this. -
I would agree, I have much less of a weight response to rice (or potatoes) than wheat or barley.
I think the push for grains comes mostly from the governments policy to keep food cheap in this country, combined with the environmentalists zeal and the vegetarians fanaticism. A perfect storm. At least the US government has quietly abandoned the horrific “food pyramid”, which literally recommended the OPPOSITE of how we should be eating.
I just realized I never mentioned sugar..... no sugar, no high fructose corn syrup, no pies, cakes, donuts, sodas, jelly, and minimal fruit juice.
it comes down to buying unprocessed food. If it comes in a box, has a brand name you recognize, you probably shouldn’t eat it. I exempt my tea from that statement...., or, as the Germans like to say, is the exemption that confirms the rule.sirhwy Thanks this.
